I'm not too bothered about the DVD, I've ordered the standard set. Really looking forward to the outtake disc but feeling slightly cautious after hearing Our Destiny/Roadhouse. Will the rest be as good quality as Electric Intercourse, or are they going to be like good bootlegs?

My main concern is: will there be any way to purchase the Syracuse show digitally? I'm pretty pissed at having to buy a DVD and rip it in both audio and video format (sigh).

I'll listen to it by streaming (which is technically a purchase). But as far as the DVD and actual files go, I'll be torrenting.

Same for me; not bothered about the dvd but looking forward to the out-takes. Especially keen to hear Love & Sex and We Can Fuck

I couldn't tell you. Warner said it's all remastered 'from the source' by Bernie Grundman but who knows what that actually means. The 'source' for disc 2 could be Warner's own vault of material Prince gave them over the years instead of the masters from Prince's vault.

But the DVD should be pretty cool since it's listed as being restored from the original production master tape.

(edit: Although, now that I think about it, it's very interesting how Warner is quick to say that the remaster of Purple Rain and the remaster of Prince & The Revolution Live! is from the original tapes while the second disc has no definitive source listed. That makes me really curious what the source of Electric Intercourse is since it was rumored that Prince gave them the remaster of Purple Rain with NO additional content and that's the reason why Warner didn't release it on the 30th anniversary

To quote an article from late 2014:

He's working on a rerelease of the epic "Purple Rain" album for its 30th anniversary, but when asked if he's excited about it, he flatly says no.

"Same album, just state-of-the-art sound," he says. "It's nice that it sounds better for the fans but I live in the now. I don't have to go backwards to celebrate.")

people only buying the 2 disc edition I really don't understand. in the Netherlands the difference is 5 deuros, 5,50 dollars. if you could buy a disc with remastered b-sides plus a remastered dvd for less than 6 dollars, you'd do it in a heartbeat.

In the UK it's a £10 difference to get the DVD. For something I'll watch maybe once, it's not worth it to me.

Already bought 4 copies, just waitin for the it drop now. Two lucky friends get a copy.

I will (pre ordered it the day it was available). I really want this to succeed, because I want a remaster deluxe for Around the World in a Day, 1999, and Sign O the Times albums too.
