"Trans4mation" - Sabotage An improved audience recording of Prince's final show in Atlanta is out there, in much better quality than what had previously been circulating. It includes some bonus items from tributes included, and a roundup of P&A soundboard releases from TIDAL. Good to know. Hopefully the estate will eventually release the soundboard as per Prince's plan but in the meantime, beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully I can get hold of this new version somehow. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

The sound is a major improvement of what was out there. You can still hear the audience, but it is not overwhelming. TRUE BLUE

Wow. Listening to this today was the first live material I've heard from Piano & A Microphone. I can't say I was super enamoured with the tour concept. It taskes a very, very special performer to make that kind of stripped-down performance interesting. . I shouldn't have doubted. I never knew till today how strong he was performing literally up until the very end. His strength & love that he spread through the performance brought out the tears & a whole other level of grieving / revealing today as I listened. . Prince never ceases to amaze me. . When this is officially released I'll happily buy it. Till then.. check this out when you can.

Is this the 7 PM or 10 PM show? I'm looking for the 10 PM show.

It's the entire 10 pm show, plus extras from Tidal and Australian shows, and a handful of tribute performances. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

It's crazy. The estate is spunking a million dollars on blocking a release they would never have put out, or could've licensed and got money from. When they should be concentrating on making a release like this available, make the final medley / track based around Purple Rain and extended single (like scandalous) and they would surely make a buck or two. I know it's in disarray, it concentrate on one good release and it would tithe them over. Dr F may be onto something tho. The lacklustre remaster means they can release more tracks on 35th and 40th anniversary, so that if you consider your original purchase you will have bought PR at least 4 times. . Sigh... Lemme explain this yet again: . The estate is fighting = shit is in legal limbo = no sane company is going to touch this because there's a chance that one of the parties involved is going to sue to prevent any release which would mean that any money invested (and there likely needs to be an investment into getting shit release-ready, e.g. mixing and mastering etc.). . Who knows, perhaps Warners still has an ongoing contract that gives them first dibs on anything new, which would likely also lock up those releases with Warners for X years. . Nothing is coming because shit is in such a mess. And the person to blame for that is... Prince. . And yes, they need to block that illegally released EP because if that is allowed, then who knows what else is going to get out there. © Bart Van Hemelen

^ wow. Bart. Ur a bit full of yourself! Lighten up. Either way, still stands. The estate, as an entity should be able to pull someone together as it's in the estate's best interests. A one off deal of some kind could easily be done, swell the coffers and allow them to block further releases while they release nothing and we all get older. Comin str8 outta Preston...

If nothing gets released we all stll have bootlegs. we didn't have a problem with them then, I don't see what the problem would be now.

So he explained to you why, in reality, this should not or could not happen and you dismiss it? "Easily be done"? How do you know that? What examples/proof do you have? . Some people here just think their fantasies become reality because they think it seems reasonable.

"When Will We Be Paid" is my favorite song from this show. Listening to Prince sing this Staples Singers cover so somberly with so much righteous indignation that I visualized the atrocities and dehumanzing manner Black people were treated in the lyrics. It sounded like he internalized the lyrics and exercised a lot of anger onstage when he performed it. I haven't heard Prince this angry since his performance of "Motherless Child" from SEPTIMO in 1999 and his nightly performances of "Avalanche" during the One Nite Alone Tour. Later on when he sung "Black Muse" where he held a 'family meeting' to reaffirm our greatness in spite of our problems, externally caused or internally created. His final show was a tour de force of jazz, gospel, rock and roll, funk and pop that make up American music. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

You realize that if Ian gets away with this other's will try the same thing. The million is just a bond they can get it back if they win. You realize that when people like Ian and these bootleggers pull this stuff it makes it difficult to monitize. After all how can the estate put out material they do not have.

^ Laura love. They knew he was going this, and were present as far as we know when the choir was being recorded for deliverance. They were dealing with him. They have so far managed to release a bootleg sourced moonbeam levels and electric intercourse, and some singles edits. If the dance benefit is outside Warners' remit I can easily see that piano and a mic might also be. But let's give this Spotify guy a go he seems to be moving stuff along.
If anything the likes of Ian we'll get them of their arses and doing something. Fingers crossed they get moving before another year has gone. [Edited 5/7/17 14:53pm] Comin str8 outta Preston...

...aiight back to Trans4mation talk.
Anyway yeah I agree with the opening of When Will We Be Paid. It is more emotional hearing it just solo without the drum track and all that was on his original release. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
