Mayte has not lived with Prince for over 10 years! I am sick of people trying to be relevant when they are not. The only people I want to hear from are the ones who saw him Jan 2016 to Apr. 21,2016.

Am I the only one that finds her joining Prince fans Facebook groups kinda weird? eek

I do not want to bash but she creeps me out.She still calls him her husband and they have not been living together for over a decade or more. She celebrates their wedding day . . . and it is really out there. It is extra and please peeps no egg and tomato throwing.

No bashing of her being an exwife- collaborator or whatever else - just my opinion

Yes creepy as hell.

No, it's not. Prince did not have Alzheimer's. I work with elderly individuals and Alzheimer's would impact more than just remembering song lyrics. IF he had Alzheimer's, he would forget the date. Alzheimer's impacts short term memory in the beginning. He might keep asking the same question over and over, have difficulty concentrating and taking longer to complete tasks, may have trouble driving to a familiar location (forgetting the way there), may forget where they are or how they got there, may have problems following a conversation or remembering a particular word, they will lose interest in grooming or staying clean, stop doing hobbies or things they enjoy, becoming less social, become confused, suspicious, fearful, or anxious.

The one thing I see a lot when working with people with Alzheimer's is the difficulty in remembering a word. They'll try saying it, they know they know the word, but they just can't bring it out. They get tearful and depressed. Prince did not show any of these signs.

Prince didn't use a teleprompter at the Atlanta gigs. He had the set lists on his piano, and maybe lyrics if he was going to do a medley - more likely prompts of when to switch between songs. He had no problems talking and getting his point across and didn't forget any words.

yes he did. it runs in his family. his father deid from it. he was forgetful around paisley park. he was forgetful at meetings. it was showing froim time to time

Using a Teleprompter on tour is not an indication of Alzheimer's. If it was every live act would have it. Good grief.

I'm choosing to believe that these cocaine accusations are the tabloid-ish way of goading the family into responding. There's some inconsistencies in what they promoted to be true and what they chose to dispel. They choose to dismiss all the people who have worked close to him over the years for the word of his deceased step sister's (yes, I said STEP sister's) lawyer's words. confused Looks like Anna Fantasic is the only person interviewed on this show that actually knew him. There was the PP DJ that had a fact wrong I guess he counts. Oh and the clip of an ET interview of Shelia.

I can't believe people watch this shit. What's worse is the ones that actually believe it.

The only way to know what's being said is to watch it since I don't read the tabs or bounce around to various gossip sites. Nothing like being blindsided by inforation you know nothing about. The fact there is so much misinformation still getting passed around here in healthy doses is enough reason to keep track.

If you watched closely enough the show shot down the suicide note as no one came forward with it ALSO the Doc shot down anything to do with the Aids talk.....That " Stupid" actor as you described....guess what?? News flash....someone hired him & he had a job to do & did it....overall it certainly was not garbage as some points made sense & seeing Anna Fantastic was Fantastic.

Nope they just highlighted the alleged cocaine, percocet and fentanyl use from the most unrelible source they could find. Anything to downplay any accomplihments he's made. Even said his dad beat him as they showed a picture of his stepdad.

But they're always very careful in how they say things, like "I don't think aids caused his death" not that they know he didn't have aids or hiv. Brilliant deduction there since we all know it was the fentanyl. "I don't think epilepsy caused his death", another brilliant deduction.

These shows are simply exploitation shows and everybody knows that going in. So there really is no ecxcuse to watch them unless you like that sort of thing.

I haven't read that Prince was forgetful in meetings and around PP. Please supply the link to support this. I also haven't read that John L. died from Alzheimer's. If I recall correctly he was at one of the celebrations and appeared to be pretty with it. Also, Alzheimer's tends to hit around 65. There is early onset Alzheimer's, but the man I watched perform on stage in April of last year did not show any signs of Alzheimer's. It would have appeared when he was speaking and singing. It did not.

Keep in mind that forgetfulness is a normal part of aging. It is expected that normal adults that are aging will have some forgetfulness. Normal forgetfulness as a part of aging include:

*forgetting where you left things you use regularly, such as glasses or keys
*forgetting names of acquaintances, or even calling someone by someone else's name
*forgetting an appointment or why you walked into a room
*being easily distracted, forgetting what you just read, or the details of a conversation

*or having that feeling that the information is on the "tip of your tongue"

The dementia that comes with Alzheimer's is severe enough that impacts your daily routines, your work, hobbies, social activities, and family relationships.

Here is a great chart:

Normal age-related memory changes

Symptoms that may indicate dementia

Able to function independently and pursue normal activities, despite occasional memory lapses

Difficulty performing simple tasks (paying bills, dressing appropriately, washing up); forgetting how to do things you’ve done many times

Able to recall and describe incidents of forgetfulness

Unable to recall or describe specific instances where memory loss caused problems

May pause to remember directions, but doesn’t get lost in familiar places

Gets lost or disoriented even in familiar places; unable to follow directions

Occasional difficulty finding the right word, but no trouble holding a conversation

Words are frequently forgotten, misused, or garbled; Repeats phrases and stories in same conversation

Judgment and decision-making ability the same as always

Trouble making choices; May show poor judgment or behave in socially inappropriate ways

Thank you! I hadn't heard that or read it. Would like to see the article. But even if John L. had Alzheimer's, research is showing that if an individual eats healthy, exercises their body and mind, being involved socially, mental stimulation, and good sleep can decrease the impact of Alzheimer's or help to fight against it. Prince did all of that, except the healthy sleep, and towards the end he seemed to not be eating or drinking. That is one thing that makes me wonder whether he did have a terminal condition (the not eating or drinking). I worked for hospice for a time as a social worker and the one thing we saw when people were getting close to the end was that they would stop eating and drinking. It is one of the earliest signs that the end is coming.

Da phueuck is your problem, exactly? I did exactly what I said I was going to do by taking into consideration this world renowned forensic pathologist POV, and toss the rest. Refer to my reply #29 where I called it, down to the last sentence, azz hat. This guys words "in his opinion" as a professional forensic pathologist (as opposed to your what? Being a 1st grade para who takes joys in correcting misspellings?) was "this was a horrible accident, bordering on homicide-hence the STILL OPEN homicide investigation. NOW, these shows DO throw all scenarios out there, but if you watched this particular one, you would see that the tabloid fodder scenarios were dismissed, in his "opinion". Maybe you'll be of more use when you get to school tomorrow, para!

The whole Alzheimer's thing came from Anna Fantastic who states that a "family member" told her at the funeral/memorial that P was in the "beginning stages" of Alzheimer's. That is what was said. Is it true? I have no idea. Just saying where it originated.
