The internet did not put any money in his pocket and after he died he sold 7 million albums because people could not get most of it for free. He did get the last laugh.

1. Of course, the internet did put money in his pocket - simply not as much as he considered was right. We have no idea what comparative sales would have been, had he allowed 'promotion' of his material online through these channels during his lifetime.

2. He'd already had his last laugh - at best, this would have been a rictus.
