Late to the song "Back in Time" So I was late to listen to Judith Hill's album. Just within the last month did I discover Back in Time. I LOVE this song and I would love to know more about the song.
I read in another thread that while Judith is credited w/ all the writing, some were disputing that notion. Put me in that camp. Back in Time is a Prince song if I've ever heard one.
I believe I hear him on bass, and guitar, and I'm wondering who is on drums? Is it P? Is it John Blackwell?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

From Princevault: http://www.princevault.com/index.php?title=Album:_Back_In_Time
Back In Time is the debut solo studio album by Judith Hill. The album includes eleven tracks, and is produced by Prince, who appears throughout the album as a musician. The album was initially made available as a free download through Prince's Live Nation email list, and through Judith Hill's own website for a 48-hour period, followed by a free stream of the full album on Hill's Soundcloud page. Seven months later, the album received a wider official release.
Initial tracking is believed to have taken place in January and February 2015 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. In a preview, Prince mentioned that they had recorded the album in two or three weeks, saying it was the fastest he'd ever made an album (N.E.W.S., however, was recorded in a single day). Two tracks, Beautiful Life and My People, had been previously recorded by Judith Hill without Prince and released on the soundtrack album to Spike Lee's movie Red Hook Summer (2012), but were re-recorded with Prince for use on this album. Prince appears a few times singing background vocals (and occasional lead vocals) on the album, and he appears playing guitar and bass guitar throughout. On the original free download of the album, the final track, Back In Time, is a half-second of silence. Prince explained at an album preview that she wanted to record an album like Sly And The Family Stone; the title track to their 1971 album There's A Riot Goin' On was also a silent track and was listed on the album sleeve as 0:00 long. This track was replaced by a full studio song of the same name when the album received its full retail release.

Is there a full song called Back In Time? On my copy of the album, there's nothing but silence for that track. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

WHOA. This whole time (since album release in WAV), I had no idea I was missing this song! Maybe I'll have to find a retail version of the album. It's a great album from the get go with, 'As Trains Go By', which is dripping with Prince Funk. "He's a musician's musician..."

Exactly what I did, and worth getting. Nice little track with some cool guitar and bass from Prince

Back In Time is my favorite track on the album. Towards the end when Prince is wailing on guitar and Judith is singing, it is epic. TRUE BLUE

You and I seem to like lots of the same stuff. I'm thinking you will dig it.

I think she is horribly over-modulated, especially on Beautiful Life. I can't listen to that song because the mix is so bad.
