Video: A year after his death, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors Prince's memory

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame posted the following video on April 21, 2017, a year after Prince passed away.

"Published on Apr 21, 2017. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, Prince's legacy as a songwriter, musician and genius performer lives on even after his passing on April 21, 2016. In honor of his memory, we're looking back on some of the highlights shared in his 2004 Induction, including performance clips, the Induction speeches from Outkast (André 3000 and Big Boi) and Alicia Keys, as well as his own acceptance speech."

i'm glad for alicia's well thought and obviously written words of adoration. they gave weight to the occasion and were a very necessary contrast to outkast's "off the dome" remarks that didn't do him justice. but honestly, both of them felt kinda "light-weightish" IMO to induct him. don't get me wrong, outkast were at the top of their game and are hip hop legends in their own right and alicia is no "scrub", but i don't know, i felt like Stevie or somebody of THAT caliber should have done this honor

A lot of it has to do with "who's hot" and not "who's the best".

I agree with you though - Stevie, Santana, Sly, or hell even MJ could have given that speech and it would've been more powerful.

Ive seen this video several times over the past year, but as I've grown in spiritual understanding, his words mean so much more to me today.
We must have spiritual seeking and mentorship.
And our mentors should care as much about our souls as their own.
HUGER than people might think.

I don't know what Prince's rel was like with Larry graham later, I think it was fine, but back then anyway Prince was VERY grateful to that man.

Yes, I did. What caused you to get into him at that particular time?
