"Dirty Mind Sessions" outtake/jam question

Hi, I found this 9mn long jam which seems to be a recent leak of Prince tripping on guitar over a drum machine, and it's labeled "Dirty Mind Sessions". Sound quality is excellent.

Could anyone please tell me

- whether this is genuine or fake?

- if genuine if this is indeed from the DM era?

- where the hell it comes from?

.

Thx hug

Interesting. Does it sound like Prince? Do you recognize any songs?

I agree with Paul. Doesn't sound like Prince. Also does not sound like a drumcomputer from back in the day. And this guitarplayer does not have the chops of our guy.

I haven't heard what you're talking about, but it's established that Prince didn't have a drum machine during DM sessions, which were done in his basement. It wasn't until the Controversy recording sessions that he first used a drum machine.

.

What about 'Lisa' (which appeared on a late working configuration of Dirty Mind)? Or the handclaps on 'Gotta Stop Messin About' (which admittedly was recorded just a bit later from the DM tracks). He's creating a similar feel with effects equipment and live playing, at the very least, if he didn't venture briefly into some non-Linn drum machine. 'Lisa' sounded a bit Ace Tone- or CR-78-ish to me, but it could be cleverly done in the studio live, I suppose. Is there any specific reason to believe he couldn't have made limited use of an on-hand unit during time at Hollywood Sound mixing/overdubbing DM, or borrowed/rented one from Chris Moon, Rick, or someone else to use at Wayzata?

.

Guitarplaying doesn't sound like Prince in any era.

lol This could be a ZZ TOP outtake when you change the photo and title.
