Prince Without Permission - great article at NPR today

An extremely well-written piece about issues of the estate, music, etc.

http://www.npr.org/sectio...permission

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I can't even imagine how amazing that must have been.

That is a great piece. And you know, it reminds me of how good their previous piece was, I remember being very impressed with it at the time but forgot all about it with the flood of competing "NO I WAS HIS GREATEST FAN" thinkpieces when he died. It was knowledgeable and critical but also clearly written by a true fan and probably better than any and every piece written about his relationship with the internet and technology since he passed.

McMillan's Twitter bio reads: "RIP PRINCE. Nothing Compares 2 U! The Greatest Artist/Musician! We shared a Great Legacy 2Gether & Changed The World 4 Artists 4Ever! ALSO: RIP ALI #GOAT."

lol lol lol
