Clare Fischer Just been listening to my favourite album, Parade, and it reminded me quite how much I adore the string arrangements.
It just adds such a different and completely unique element to the music. In my opinion, Clare is by far the most underrated collaborator prince has ever had. Anyone agree? And does anyone have a definitive list of tracks, released and unreleased (including associated artists) that he had an involvement with? ----------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, I can't be arsed to dig out "Days Of Wild" to find out what Claire has worked on and what he hasn't but here is what I love:
Mia Bocca The Screams Of Passion Desire (This is definatley a beautiful experience!) Christopher Tracy's Parade I Wonder U Venus De Milo Alexa De Paris An Honest Man (UTCM) Crystal Ball Until Your In My Arms Again This Crazy Life Of Mine (I love this song so much, porbably for the wrong reasons) --------------------

I like Mia's list.
Did he also do the arrangements on "The One"? (too lazy to check) "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

I Dug what Clare Fischer did with Prince except for the Family Album which seemed to have the strings&things all over the place.but it was cool.I prefer Fischer's work though however better with Asford&Simpson&The Jacksons Circa 1978 IMHO, mistermaxxx

for the longest time I thought clare was girl, but he is actually a road rage prone tough old guy who has never met prince. prince finds it fun to just send him tapes and never meet him. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Such a beautiful arrangement, to such a emotional song. One of those songs that made me cry back in the day when things were tough. Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

So this Mia Bocca song...
Tell me... Did Prince write it? The strings, too? What does Mia Bocca mean?

Mia Bocca means: 'my mouth'
thanx 4 the URL link nothinbutjoy

Nothinbutjoy - THANKS for the link!!! I've often wondered what Clare Fischer looks like.
I the orchestral touches he brings to Prince's work! There are SO many songs which, without hs input, would be far less passionate and intoxicating. Try to imagine songs like 'Crystal Ball', 'Man o' War', 'Splash' and all the rest without the strings... It would be a TOTALLY different experience. I remember reading a review of 'New Power Soul' (I think it was in either 'Q' magazine or The NME) where the reviewer actually slagged off Prince for getting Clare in to provide strings for 'The One'. It basically went along the lines of 'Prince has lost it so much that he now even has to get someone to provide strings'. Um, yeah - like he always composed the string/horn parts. Bloody idiots As for 'Mia Bocca', mrdespues, I think it means 'My Mouth'. And, that, together with 'Violet Blue', is one of THE best ever Prince compositions. Man, I'd to hear Prince's version...
