It would be some sad pathetic nostalgia tour and an obvious desperate attempt at commcercial success. Prince will stick to what he feels. I mean, really, has he ever done what we want him to?

I wanted a reunio for years too- but you're forgetting the Revolution has aged (except for Prince himself).

Seeing a fat and old Revolution would be very sad and would be a Sellout!

I havent seen any photos of revolution members the size of blimps? I dont think any of them have aged badly, Check out bruce and the E street - now theyve really aged, BUT they still rock the stadium like not many others.

Let's just say Brown Mark has been eating some Brownies, and Wendy and Lisa last time I checked have turned real lesbian and aren't what they used to be. Dr. Fink and Bobby Z could pull it off probably. I just think the Revolution was a time and place and unless they recorded some new material, or did an MTV unplugged, I wouldn't want to see it

Well Bobby missed a few cues at the first Celebration Northrup show; and Fink looked a bit aged and chunky too. And while the surgeon's outfit may have been cool in the 80s (this is the personality folks seem to say the NPG lacks rolleyes ), it looked corny and sad in 2000.

Without the get ups, the Revolution would look really UNglam and bland. And with the exception of Wendy and Lisa, they just been too out of practice as performing musicians to really measure up to what I got used to in the shows I witnessed and heard from last year.

So what if they've gained some weight, would Prince have to leave his hairplugs at home too?? lol
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Heaven forbid Prince ever does anything that make sense. It would be ridiculous to reassemble the Revolution to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of Purple Rain. It did not work for Springsteen to bring the E street band back. They did not sellout auditoriums or become grammy nominated or anything. I am one of the biggest Prince fans there is. It would be nice sometime if he would operate in a manner that makes sense. I know some of you guys are of the opinion that one should only look forward and not backwards. I respect that, but you have to admit that the early/mid 80's was a magical time for Prince and his fans and a big part of that was the Revolution. It would be great to see that group reassembled for a new album and tour. It would not only bring a load of press to Prince, but it would also coffers, not to mention make his fans happy. I guess I should not get my hopes up because it probably makes too much sense.

you are right...it wasa magical time. That time is over. There's a video out called Prince & The Revolution Live. It was filmed during that magical time. When I get nostalgic I flip it on. I'm not being a smart ass (well, maybe a little) but to compare make up and gender bending 80's to the e street band is a bit ill conceived. Bruce never changed his musical style. prince did. he's just not there anymore...

As far as bruce goes, i saw him in sydney 3 weeks ago with the E street and they were awesome. they played to a 35,000 odd crowd, and played for just over 3 hours...I also saw Bruce a few years back do a more intimate solo acoustic set, and it was just OK...so I would have to say the E street comeback has been fairly successful...I'd love to see Prince (and possibly with the revolution) do a huge venue again,,,but will that ever happen??? time will tell.

It could happen.

Look at Fleetwood Mac! They look and sound awesome and were from the 70's man!

I think with some gym work, re-styling, it could happen. At least they didn't do the rap thing.

And Bruce and EStreet, they looked great last time I saw them do that live show on TV.

I think The Revolution can do a special album and tour with Prince if they released Roadhouse Garden.

They wouldn't be in the lace and stuff, just cool and clean ala America video or Parade era.

Gym, diets, practice, and bam! Prince and The Revolution 2004!

I enjoyed seeing Bobby and fink at the Northurp in 2000.

So True.
