The things I would give to be a Rolling Stone for a day but man oh man I would not want to have to follow Prince. Does anyone even remember who won that Superbowl?

Let me tell you, RS have no problem following anyone. Nobody shows them up. "Climb in my fur."

The Bar Kays. They were not nice to him. But. He continued in music a lot longer than them. They also had something in common years later. Ahem. Van. Ahem. Ity. "I don't make the rules. I just play"

. this is true. I saw Prince/Zapp with Roger/THE TIME on the Controversy tour when they came through Richmond VA in early '82. THAT show obviously was FULL of FUNK. . I too am now curious about whatever went down between Prince & the Bar-Kays. I like "soul finger" & "boogie body land" (I think that's the title..) but indeed - as talented a band as they were, Prince circled them many times. by himself. . ideally someone will post more tea about this "beef" between Prince. & that other group. I'll see you tonight..

It's hard to believe Prince was ever the opening act! He seemed like he was always on top.

He has been his own opening act sometimes!! Couldn't decide which of the two I enjoyed more. Produced, Arranged, Composed & Performed by PRINCE
