Also, if you look at discs 2 and 3, there really isn't any room for any other tracks given that a CD is potentially 80 minutes long. Those discs seem to be full. It could fit at the end of the remastered album, but it'd be weird to stick one track at the end of the original 9 tracks.

Not saying we shouldn't dream of getting everything we want from this project, but at this point I'm excited for what I know is coming. It's not perfect, but it's pretty exciting all the same.

Target still does exclusive editions on a regular basis. Some recent examples are the latest albums from Sheryl Crow, Allison Krauss, John Mellencamp, and Gwen Stefani. They do seem to be becoming less common elsewhere--Best Buy has done them less frequently of late, and I haven't heard of any at Walmart for quite a while.

That said, I wouldn't expect any exclusive versions of this release. In fact, Target has the 2-CD version of Purple Rain up for preorder on their website, with no mention of exclusives.

My collection is mostly Blu-Ray movies, that's pristine for the moment. Don't get me wrong, all things considered, the clip did look very good.

Yeah I got that impression as well after comparing it to the Makings of Rain DVD, the colours seemed vastly better than what we've had previously

The video was digitally cleaned up altho the audio on that was still video sourced, so if the sample audio is soundboard it would have had to come from warners or one of the collectors that have it

The new clip is marginally better in terms of brightness, contrast and color grading, but only slightly. I'd say it's no more than a 5-10% max improvement on First Avenue The Right Way.

It's the audio that's far better, so this could still be this footage, ran through some digital enhancement filters and color grading, blended with the soundboard audio.

Not discounting the idea that WB are working on this, but this clip is far from solid proof on it's own.

Ah fair enough, wasn't previously aware of The Right Way actually so thanks for this. Guess this does mean that there's a fair possibility that it was just a fan created clip after all, hope that's not the case but you're right, the clip doesn't really confirm anything.

Still available in the UK. Price for regular one has gone up to £12.99, glad I ordered at £11.99

No one can argue that the audio is 1000x better on that snippet than what is circulating.

What might be argued is the video quality. The circulating video is definitely multi-generation VHS dubbed. There is ghosting, muddy detail, colrs are off, etc...

Now, one thing to keep in mind is that the master recording itself is 34 years old. It was probably shot on beta (still tape, not digital). Taking age into consideration, when you compare what is circulating with this snippet, the video quality is actually very much improved. The venue is obviously lowly lit so that plays a part in the overall quality. But looking at this snippet, what I see is, no ghosting at all, The colors are very close to accurate (look at Prince's guitar), but the lighting in the venue will affect that too. There is much more detail in the image. Look at Prince and Wendy's faces, the cymbal stands behind them, the shot of the crowd when the light hits them.

I created a clip of the circulating video, followed by the snippet and the improvement in video quality is very notceable to me. I would share, but doesn't seem like that is allowed.

I said that was the rumor. Which right now, it is. We don't know either way right now. I'm just considering all (well...both of) the options.

As Neversin has just proven, others had access to the raw footage and could clean it up. We already knew some folks had the soundboard.

So as of right now, all that Sifi has, is his word. I'm not saying he is lying, nor saying he's telling the truth. Just saying that clip isn't enough to go on.

That info is generic anyway and in some cases incorrect - the demo of Katrina's hasn't circulated widely.

All those pics looks blurry AF when compared to Sifi's snippit footage. However, I can understand Militant's point that it's still unverified info. I say IF what Sifi said happens and we get an PR expanded - expanded edition that includes even more unreleased tracks like Wednesday, Gspot, and others, then that would vindicate his claim to the iron throne of westeros...oops, I mean to being an WB insider.

Although I don't think there will be store exclusives with this. But Target does exclusive tracks all the time. Mary J Blige's new album has 2 Target bonus tracks. John Legend's new album, Nora Jones, New Kids on The BLock's new album that comes out Friday 5/12, Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp etc...

They actually have a section with "Target exclusives" in the store.
