b) There were numerous technical blunders (bad audio etc.) which Paramount refused to acknowledge and correct for a looong time. (Paramount also fucked up the European Blu-ray release of Deadwood, even though all they needed to do was use the HBO release and change the region setting. Instead they fucked up the sound and even the menu, and no extras were available.)

I just gotta love how you lot continue to praise Prince as "doing his own thing", and whenever he fucks up it's "big companies make the same mistakes". Prince had full control, Warners don't, simple as that. Prince posted his brainfarts in public and then later pretended he never said anything (even erasing posts from the newsfeeds of his websites or denying a press release he put out as lies); Warners announced plans and then encountered far more problems than they'd expected. Yeah, I don't hold them to the same standards, because that's simply not fair.

It is interesting how different the world of the Prince forum and Facebook are now. Links to anything realeased are made avilable on Facebook within minutes and continue to be shared but obviously on forums like this they are not.

Is it possible to explain why Youtube are immune from these issues by the Safe Harbour laws, but Prince.org are not? It's not a criticism of the Org, I just assume that better lawyers buy you more rights.

i dont know who you are talking to with that tone. like i said NOT EVERYONE has a Blu Ray Player thats a fan. some older fans may not even be interested in a Blu Ray. these elitist fans kill me thinking its their way or no way at all.

I think the point is everyone CAN have a blu ray player, and not at any great cost. It's currently the best widely available format in the physical market.

Do I think this release is underwhelming? Yes. But matter of fact, I don't blame Warners. I blame Prince. He's the one who failed to curate his back catalogue, he's the one who obstructed and sabotaged this release for two years, and he continues to be an impediment due to the fact that the vault appears to be a complete mess. yes, but the org can't run/hide/diffuse like that. and since this is the place where a lot
of people get their initial information and the one place that everyone seems to monitor
from the prince camp to warners, to at least some degree, it's only logical that they are
also coming down hard on the org if actual files or links to files get posted here.

and since this is the only real place we can all discuss prince and his music and all other
things, it's probably a good thing that the mods are relentless because otherwise they
might have shut this place down for good already.

and the fact is that the MODs do not have the time and can not be expected to determine who is and who is not authorized to post stuff that falls under IP protections.

I do hope the 'ban' is a temp one but if not it is what it is. and i respect the mods decisions and rulings.

WB and PP. both need to seek out some of the big collectors and fans and get their input as to what needs to be put out. As far as we all know many...Most.. shows were recorded some with video most with soundboard audio. As well as outtakes and alt versions circulating or just assumed to exist.
