Prince vault said that he might have used the recording from first ave... but that seems to be inferior to me (based on the quality of the ones i have heard and then based on the quality of the recording not the vocal)

This is really exciting. I can't wait to hear this. I am trying to surpress my automatic response which seems to be "more!!!" becuase we know there was so much more material from which to choose. Wasn't G-Spot in Darling Nikki's place for a while? I would think that would make sense for inclusion. And wasn't All Day, All Night recorded w/ the band around this time? His vocal version of that would be wonderful. There are so many.

But in the meantime - - YES!!!! I cannot wait for this release. I hope there is a vinyl set that includes the studio album and the Vault album. Interestingly, the way the tracks are sequenced for the Vault disc, it's a perfect setup for a 2-LP vinyl release, 3-LP overall including the main set. They could probably make it a 4-LP set with an abbreviated version of Disc 2 with the key songs (the single edits don't strike me as particularly essential).

Yes, here the sound seem a little "flat" (like MoonBeam Levels), but the song is great.

The "deluxe" version (only Purple Rain and The Vault) is 1650 yen (more or less 13,64 euro)
