I always thought it meant being so sexually frustrated that you wind up just throwing in the towel, buying some salad in a bag, and staying home to watch the Lifetime channel all night.

If she doesn't give in to his sexual advances, then he'll go solo, pleasure himself- in other words, masturbation. Suicide is what a person does to himself just as masturbation.
