I have a hard time believing this would be the final artwork for the album. I have a hard time believing Dream Factory would be released as a project by The Flesh. I also have a hard time believing that his encouragement of this art was much more beyond encouraging his girlfriend to explore her artistic endeavors.
Maybe I'm just too skeptical of stuff that comes out now that he isn't around to say, 'lol no.'
Especially when one of his last interviews included him low-key referencing the fact that the W&L/S/Rogers camp spends way too much time injecting meaning where it doesn't belong or, in some cases, exist. [Edited 5/5/17 17:59pm] |

she said there were about 3 different drawings. So we've only seen 1. And of course we don't know the end result. We also know Prince went blond.
We don't know the full scope of what was to be. I doubt she would have made up the Dream Factor / the Flesh. It could have easily been his first attempt at a dual project in 1.
She was drawing and painting before him, and painted murals on his walls.
.
Maybe you are just too skeptical.
.
No the low key reference was not directed at W&L, but @ Susannah about the Beautiful Ones song.
And Prince also wrote down note and said stuff to people especially Susan Rogers when recording. . Prince was also delusional in that interview thinking Susan Rogers was going to take over the vault.
.
Enjoy or don't. Yes Prince is gone. It is what it is now.

I know what the reference was about. That's why I included all those folks in there - because they're typically all guilty of feeling their important oats retrospectively. Even the mere suggestion that something like "Strange Relationship" is about Susannah is absurd. It was written before he ever met her. Ugh.
.
I don't know -if- she'd make it up. I don't know the lady. No more than anyone else on this forum. I'm sure people didn't think Robin Power was batshit fucking insane until she came up in here and showed us all in person. I have no idea if Susannah is batshit fucking insane, but I do know she is given to grasping at straws - much like her twin, but in different ways.
.
I'm not hung up about Prince being gone nor do I need another man's permission to enjoy anything. I'm just saying that I meet these things with skepticism and for good reason. Prince was pretty adept at dispelling this bullshit when it'd crop up. Now that he isn't and everyone and their mom (literally) want to talk about stories and show horrible album artwork (that High art was vomitrocious), you can't really be sure what is the truth. |

oh gawd, the thread isn't about all that. Seriously that is just too much projection. She was there U weren't. Prince was always in connection with them.
.
It is out there, it is what it is, she talked about the piece way before Prince died, and other in the camp long ago know Prince had her doing some drawings for the album.

No one has said this was the final artwork. No one has said that the final album was going to be credited to The Flesh. These are both works in progress. |

No need to get defensive. My statements stand on their own as opinions of artwork presented. I'm sure the Melvoins are alright and don't really need the protection, though.

Your statements ("batshit insane" and "grasping at straws" etc) were unnecessary. It's not unusual to see fans get bent out of shape about Prince's old flames on here though, par for the course. |

Thanks for the critique, but since this is all par for the course you should be able to take it in stride. Love 2 u. |
