Ripopgodizippa! Which is your fave? Finally listening to Crystal Ball.

I was robbed twice so been restocking the collection for the third time disbelief

In the must have everything frenzy, and availability of not in store releases, I've deliberately left some albums so I can have new music (while waiting for NEW music wink )

HOLY @#$% - Ripopgodazippa is AWESOME! So groovy! Are there other Prince tracks with this same vibe (that I may not be aware of?)

What is your fave song from Crystal Ball?

Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Crystal Ball is one of my most favorite prince songs. Even if the version on the set is not the best one...

Last Heart, Calhoun Sqaure, Acknowledge Me, 2morrow and Lovesign are favorites of mine. As far as ones like Ripopgodizippa, I think Splash, Me Touch Myself, and Blue Light are alike!

Crystal Ball has plenty of stellar songs. The fact that my Best of Crystal Ball play-list has 15 songs attests to this! It is fun to find what speaks to you, as it seems that there is so much diversity that who know what will become your favorites. I do agree with those who have mentioned Crystal Ball, Crucial, and Acknowledge Me.

I called your number...like you told me to

Like a puppet on a string...I'm a dance and I'm a sing

I will do most anything...if you promise me da bang bang bang

Insert blowtorch guitar....OWWA!

I always thought that song would have played so nicely on Come (aside from it not having a one word title).

many many great songs on there. in fact, the only thing that disappointed me
in this release was

1: the remixes (and 'tell me how u wanna b done')
2: that there were no songs from other periods, like 88-92 for example.

there are so many good ones on there that i can't pick, really. but the one i've
listened to most, according to my itunes, is "Da Bang". i'm obsessed with that
one. both that and "What's My Name?" i can never listen to just once, i have
to put them on repeat and listen to them over and over and over again.

it speaks to the quality of the 93/95 material that i'd even think about them at
first and not the 85/86/87 songs. which, by the way, are marvelous as well.

Couldn't agree more. What a shit hot prolific period.

.

I was happy to get the likes of 18 & Over, Acknowledge Me, Days Of Wild and Interactive on CD after only having them on video but also agree with you on the remixes; they were literally a waste of space.

I love the CB, but the remixes.

Crystal Ball, Last Heart, Poom Poom, Goodbye, Calhoun Square, Da Bang, Strays Of The World, Sexual Suicide....

The first four songs on Disc 1 slay me:

  1. "Crystal Ball"* – 10:28 (recorded 1986)
  2. "Dream Factory"* – 3:07 (recorded 1985)
  3. "Acknowledge Me"* – 5:27 (recorded 1993)
  4. "Ripopgodazippa" – 4:39 (recorded 1993)

"Crystal Ball" is my favorite, though.

i still don't understand the inclusion of those remixes. somehow he must have
felt really very strongly about them because he literally had a thousand other
songs he could have put on that set.

but there's only a handful of them, thankfully. and, like you, i'm very happy
we got all those other songs from that period on cd.
