Audiophiles Deliverance

Ian Boxhall..i think he did an amazing job on the sound on this EP. It sounds amazing.

Everything is so clear and I think it is because it is mixed so well.

I agree. There's a couple of awkward butt-cuts between songs, but apart from that it's an amazing production. I wonder if the orchestra is Clare Fisher or his son? And the choir? This whole EP is of such high-quality that the engineer comes off as a benefactor to humanity, with Prince's estate in too much of disarray to free the music this way. I don't like the fake video, but the album cover, everything else, is just spot on, and Prince's best music in years.

I won't say best in years.. we always say that. However, it is some great stuff. Ian may have thought like a fan and wanted us to see what he had. Sure he wanted some money too. I am happy it is out I played these 16bmi over and over and it sounds fantastic.

I certainly do agree with the points above.

.

I think the production sounds very nice and 'very Prince'.

.

I certainly wouldn't have an issue with him working on other Prince material.

.

lol lol lol

LOVE it. Everything about it.

DELIVERANCE would have made a KILLER concert opener with 3EG.

- I thought it was just me that thought ´it sounds more fat and organic than lots of his recent releases´.

Did you ever notice that Baltimore and Stare sound cleaner and that you can hear more ...every guitar groan...the sliding of his fingers down the bass strings.. ..i understand he let the engineer run with how those twobtracks would sound.

I have hope now that a food engineer can bring us good releases if the masters become available to the..

It's crisp n clean with no caffeine. And there's air to breathe in the production.

I have always been so envious of classic rock fans (Pink FLoyd, Steely Dan, Dire Straits) as well as Sade b/c their recordings are so well done. Meanwhile, my man Prince, sounds so bad so often! smile Deliverance is exactly how I hoped he would sound. I do not have the technical vocab to explain what it is but it's all so damn clear....you can hear that organ come in and out, his guitar ...everything.

Only thing that felt 'un-Prince' - the fade out to I Am (extended). Hard to describe but even a type of fade out can sound like it wasn't his doing.

But overall, it felt like our guy. A great little surprise. Especially as this is, to the best of my knowledge, the first ever glimpse into the unheard Prince. Everything until now has been given to the public, friends or a record company before we heard it. Not this time. The material could easily have replaced a similar runtime of songs on any post 2008 album save AOA (ignoring issues of album style, e.g. MPLSound).

To me it sounds like the symbol guitar on deliverance and the Hohner on "I Am"

The tracks sound absolutely awesome and the "whoop whoop" on "I Am" really makes me smile every time

Yes, it sounded like the symbol guitar to me too. I was never a big fan of the sound of that guitar. Tract is still amazing but I probably would like it even more if he was playing the strat on it.
