Prince mention in horror novel

Picked up a new horror novel by James Brogden called Hekla's Children.

I'm reading deep in the night and when they find the girl that has been missing for 10 years, she wasn't big on conversation. But when the main character told her about current affairs, he said the only thing she commented on was the passing of Prince.

"Prince died? My dad really was into him".

Wasn't ready to read that, especially in a book like this. It stopped me completely, I just read it over and over to process it. Like a sucker punch.

Good book, if you're into mystery/horror..
