These books aren't that expensive for hardcover. All but one are $35. I wish we could see inside to get a feel for what the content is like. Is it mostly a picture book? I still might order though I'm sure shipping will be crazy.

Well, I live in upstate NY, and I had two shipping options, both 3-business-days. They were both under $3. One was a "package", one was ...something else. I forget, but it might be the difference between a padded envelope and a box. I chose the latter and paid the $2+ for it. I bought three of the books (Fashion, Guitar & Bass, Museum Tour Book - I skipped the celebration book because it seems to be local only), and my total was about $96 & change.

You can calculate your shipping in your cart, too. I was surprised it was so cheap, but I should have mine by Wed or Thurs.

Ok they're using different shipping for the books then. I just pretended to order a $15 key chain and they wanted $12 for ups ground shipping.

I don't think they have overseas shipping options yet.

It's very sad indeed that whoever is running this shop is alienating all Prince fans across the world.

.

Maybe I have it wrong and that all Prince fans only actually live in Minnesota?

.

hmph!

Well that's a good bit of hyperbole.

.
It sounds like they're getting educated in shipping and using the less-expensive US Post Office.
That's the only way shipping on those books would be at such a low cost -- USPS media mail.
.
I may take credit for educating them -- at least partially.
.
I had purchased two of the keychains.
The total was $54.
But it was obvious from that cost that they were using UPS because they couldn't ship to our winter home mailing address, a PO Box.
I wrote them and asked for USPS to the PO Box and voila.
The shipping was in one bubble envelope that only weighed a few ounces. No, I didn't get a shipping refund but someone did hie it to the PO.
.
But their shipping on those older items is way out of line. They could have tossed in an extra keychain with my order and still made extra money.
.
I'm a 20+ year eBay seller. I know specialized shipping.
Paisley Park, don't make me come over there wink

There's no reason to not ship overseas. It's entirely possible with USPS.

Got excited. Added all three books to cart and no shipping outside North America and Mexico. Very dissapointed. Flippin amateurs.

If anyone wants to do a good deed and let me send the books to them to be sent on to me, I'd love you forever and Paypal you the shipping cost plus a little extra for your trouble. smile

These are not the way to do a book on Prince. 4 x 100-130 pages for $35 each? Why didn't they make 1 decent book and charge $50-60?

I doubt the quality of these books

Agreed with everyone who is annoyed that these can't be shipped overseas. To much stuff we're missing out on or paying well over the odds because we can't buy direct.

I dunno, I kinda of like that they are in specialize volumes, it leads one to think they may add more in the future and also let people who may not be interested in fashion but yes on the guitars pick and choose to their interests smile

Then of course there's the rest of us that want it all foodnow biggrin

I'll be buying these after my trip (don't want to NOT be here/in town when they attempt to deliver).

I don't mind ordering an extra or two but I know that shipping overseas can be hefty from Canada so not sure if it's worthwhile to do that sad

I'm really annoyed about this. I'm in the UK and there is already so much stuff we can't buy because it's pick up only! So basically unless you can afford to travel across the globe, plus accommodation, plus entry to the tour, that's the only way you can get your hands on half the merchandise for sale. These three books I suspected would be the same so I was momentarily 'over the moon' to find no mention of the words PICK UP ONLY and I could add them to my cart! I'd already registered, and I chose the PayPal option....all was well until it pulled me back to the address page to correct my Country and State!!

The irony is that I have emailed PP to find out if there is any way around this and whilst there has been no response, what I do keep getting is messages to remind me I've left items in my cart and i need to finish check out! Argh!! I would if I bloody could! Needless to say I have no family or friends currently residing in the US, Canada or Mexico so I just cannot think of a way around this! Seriously? In this day and age they can't ship worldwide? Even I can manage that when I sell stuff on eBay! Any suggestions for navigating this issue would be welcome.

I totally agree with you, Amazon keep doing this shit, only showing the Postage and Handling costs at the very end, when they have your card details and everything else, and the price is either ridiculous (More than the book itself) or they don't ship to New Zealand.

.

Amazon need to stop this, and our Consumers Council are running a campaign to end "drip pricing" which is where advertisers do not show additional fees in their prices. Postage and Handling fees are notorious here in New Zealand, which might as well be Mars for the northern Hemsiphere. Even a poaperback I bought 2 years ago cost $12 for the book and about $35 for the shippage and handling.

.

Concert and show tickets are notorious, as these are sold by "agencies" like Tickettek and Ticketmaster (Mostly faceless Australian corporations, who treat NZers like we are the colonial bull and wards and dependencets of them), who whack on additional levies, service fees, fees to print out tickets, even if you do it at home, and excessively high card fees.

.

Shane had they said yes, 4 hardcover books from the US would have cost you at least $80 in their "Shipping" fees.

.

Also annoyed here, virtually none of the new books about Prince are available yet and we only got afew memorial magazines all wildly overpriced.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I'm glad it wasn't one big heavy book. These will be perfect for a coffee table or bookshelf. I have a Beatles Anthology book which is 400 pages and it just collects dust because it's so big and heavy. I just hope the quality of these books is good.

First Class mail doesn't make sense because it cannot exceed one pound.
Three books will weigh more than that.
.
I'd want them boxed because bubble mailers do not protect from damage.
They shouldn't be shipping nice books in them.

I don't disagree, but the only other shipping choice was slower and differed in price by pennies. I would bet there's something in their Shopify account that needs to be adjusted to calculate shipping properly.

Thank you so much. That's very kind of you. However, I received an org note from a friend in Australia who advised that here in NZ and also in Australia, the postal service have a system where you register for a U.S address and it goes to their warehouse where they ship it to you and for much cheaper than most companies who DO ship here will charge. Wish I'd have known before I bought all the other books I've been ordering but for this one, it's perfect.

Perhaps there's a similar service run by European postal services for others here.
