More business for ya, homie: if you had taken the time to click on the link, you would see that I asked a mod on the ETA. No doubt, the mod team is working on that. Why the fuck did you not take the time to do that?

Perfect at giving other org'ers the business since the Org's inception. He was next in line for the old comeuppance...

. I do not believe that associated artist tracks should end up on a deluxe Purple Rain release. I was merely going through a list, an imperfect one, of PR-era material, either uncirculating altogether or circulating in relatively poor quality (hence, 'loosely construed'). . The exact delineations and gradations to what is a PR-era track (or any era) are subjective. To me, it begins almost indisputably by Summer of 1983, and ends around March of 1984, with some slight overlap into material from other session periods. The pre-PR 1983 material is a bit wonky, further along in some of the production earmarks than 1999 material, but generally not as qualitatively good as the released material from eras it is wedged between. He was already in a different musical place by Spring 1984, although it was all still 'purple' until at least Winter 1985. . I do believe that, if WB were give unlimited discretion, a compressed soundtrack release with 'Jungle Love' and 'The Bird' would have been something their management style would dictate, back in 2014 or even 2004. .

I am relieved to see that you are not one of the crazies, I have to say that given your past record I was a bit surprised to see you making such an amateurish statement, but I have misunderstood your purpose, my bad. Right now there is so much CONFUSION regarding what WB means by "albums" that I believe it senseless to speculate on content: for now we can only speculate over the nature of the whole package, i.e. all PR-related or not. My understanding would be that any released material (b-sides, mixes) and unreleased mixes or released songs is tacitely included in the PR remaster itself, that the 2 albums would be 2 albums of 83-84 totally unreleased material sequanced in such a way that they sound like "real" albums, and that the 2 shows are related to the PR era. That would sound logical. But my guess is as good as anyone's.

I still cannot help but feel that the press release suggests something that is too good to be true. I'm not interested in BFTP: WB Edition. . There are so many apparent and unlikely hurdles, including his general ambivalence to revisting his distant past and the JW considerations dealing with the obscenity of some of the material, I am not convinced that even knowledge of terminally failing health or a signficant financial incentive could clear. . The Estate is theoretically better positioned to handle the back catalogue, in the sense of liberating material that latter-day P would never have sanctioned (or made available to WB), although its key players seem to have only rudimentary knowledge of and limited ethusiasm for the early material, and connect mostly with what he's done in the past approx. twenty years. . There are rumors that 'Electric Intercourse' was never fully completed at Sunset, which raises fears that he has tinkered with these tracks in more recent years; although a 'sensuous' piano-driven ballad like this can probably withstand being revised with less controversy than other tracks. We're presuming that it was overdubbed, but it may even have been fully re-recorded in Aug/Sept 1983, or have a studio version recorded prior to 8/3/1983, or more than one of the above. That's fine, but if what ends up being released is a modern re-recording like 'Empty Room 2002', the appeal simply isn't the same. A cleaned up and mixed soundboard of the live performance of EI would be satisfactory, too, if that's the best presentation for the song or about as far as he got in '83. But then also, he makes it just 'Electric' and refrains from 'intercourse' in the live teases. Will he neuter or bawdlerize the songs, either by limiting his selection to the cleaner songs, or editing the the dirtier ones? . A two-disc special edition with a few outtakes, a few extended mixes, and a few demos and all the full-length b-sides would seem to hit the necessary mark; I am close to incredulous that this five or more disc release is going to match or top those more reasonable expectations. . At the same time, and as was stated in the locked thread, now that he's gone, we should be especially appreciative of what is provided. .

I'm gong to bet the two full concerts are First Avenue August 1983 and Syracuse 1985. I would be very surprised if it was neither. The "two full albums" is probably one disc of b-sides and remixes we know of, and one disc of stuff we've never heard, with some that has been on boots. Bring on The Revolution's recording of The Dance Electric, which is from this era. This needs an official home so bad. I hope we get the Purple Rain strings and keys mix floating around on boots in low quality. Love that one.

this album is called music from motion picture purple rain. it is a soundtrack. So these associated artist songs that featured in film deserve to be on there more so than any unreleased songs as they actually feaured in film.Pretty sure they will put them on there. i like the songs also so want them on it. i also like how they got free promotion by announcing around grammys and will get free promotion and for releasing it around his birthday. At least they have learnt lesson from 4ever and release a descent product. so much better than i thought.

Were they on the original "music from the motion picture"? No. Why? because Prince didn't want them there. Why not, are they outtakes? No: he wanted them on albums titled Ice Cream Castles and Apollonia 6. Why? because Prince had an artistic vision for three different albums and wasn't gonna pile-up songs for the mere sake of piling them up. You like the songs? I do too. Great news: they're already available on 2 awesome albums titled Ice Cream Castles and Apollonia 6. If you don't have those songs get those albums, they're there for you to enjoy. You want them remastered? Petition WB for an Ice Cream Castle and an Apollonia 6 remaster. Music from the motion picture or not, putting those songs on a PR remaster would be gross. Don't be short-sighted, be ambitious, see the big picture and embrace it. Your life will be much improved. Since folks feel Moonbeam Levels was of already of booted quality, we have to be wary of the so-called unreleased music they claim will also be relesed. The quality of that material is unknown to us.

2 discs of unreleased music means, I guess, two times 45 minutes at least. So can we find 90 minutes of music that fits the 'unreleased' description and the 'music from Purple Rain' line? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Y'all get so upset about Prince not saying the word intercourse back in 2014. Dude was practically orgasming at his piano, he didn't need to say the word. It wasn't censorship, if anything the performance was the opposite.

I fear that would need a licencing deal with Sony-BMG, and I don't see WB sharing a piece of that pie with competition. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/
