Pickup the lastest issue of City Pages (April 12) "Prince: A Complete Album Guide"

Printed it out and really enjoyed it. Did find their marking of the latest albums was very harsh though, although the rest is spot on.

Also they do not review any NPGMC stuff, Newpowersoul, 20Ten or live albums.

They dismiss Lotusflow3r 3 cde set with one line and pretty much give it the dreaded ½ star, a mark reserved for the worst albums like NEWS, Plectrumelectrum and Rainbow Children, which deserve that mark. Ironically they say Boytrouble is the best song, which has me thinking epic WTF?

Meh. This analysis was way off the mark. Look at the shitty rating they gave, "Come." This reviewer has a lot of WTF moments....

Keep being utterly confused by the rating system of 1/2 to 4

Yes, the rating system is a wreck. They say a really low rating could still be a good album, but do you think this type of rating system would encourage any newer fans to explore anything other than the 3 to 4 star albums? I am not going to go into my numerous disagreements with the specific album ratings.

Yeah, Lotus on its own is his best post-2000 album. The other 2 discs are the problem.
