I was at the second show of the piano and mic at Paisley and it was a good show not great, I'm not sure why people are making such a big deal about those shows in particular other than it was close to his death. I was in the VIP in the first row and when he did purple rain I alomst started to chuckle because his emotion was so put on an not real it was almost comical. He said before at Paisley how much he didn't like playing the song at times so I think he had to fake some emotion. Also the fact that he was playing a keyboard and not a piano made it not as good. The sound overall was great but in hearing what he played from the Atlanta show the Saturday before his death it just sounded like a bunch of girls screaming over the music.

You THOUGHT you read?!! Nice. Snark aside, he showed off a new guitar at his last party at Paisley Park, which was a few days before he transitioned.

Link's incomplete, but I doubt he got to a point where he couldn't play the guitar. The guitar was Prince and Prince was the guitar in human form.

It's going to be a LONG time before you start seeing stuff. Enjoy the fact you got "Moonbeam Levels" and will get some more "picture books" this year from various authors but like someone was saying on the ORG that there may not be much that there is a access too. Just because someone is now in charge or sorting, does not mean we are getting new music. I mean a lot are saying that the "vault" stuff may be in poor shape too, and he may only in the case of this PR re-issue, have given WB second and third generation stuff to work with NOT first generation and SURELY not MASTER recordings. SO don't expect things "musically" for a while

The last footage of him playing guitar onstage was a brief appearance at the Chanhassen Theatre mid-March 2016 and he sounds just fine

If I'm correct, when Prince said that he couldn't play guitar at the moment, it was only in referecne to the fact that he was devoting all of his attention to the piano, and being the best piano player that he could be. He said something similar about when he was touring with Tamar, that his guitar playing improved dramatically because he was giving it his sole attention.

DVD's are so 2007.

P died and the estate is in chaos.

So later perhaps a Bluray if they think this is a priority.

personally speaking it would be far too painful to watch. Seeing clips of the last show are unbearbale.

I agree with you. Did he announce beforehand why he would not be playing his guitar?

He said that he wanted to concentrate on piano and get as proficient on it as he was on guitar.

This is what I love about that man. Up until the very end he was still trying to perfect his craft and improve. At one of the PP shows he mentioned he would spend hours late at night just playing the piano. I think his piano playing was phenomenal during this tour. Ok no I'm not comparing it to the greatest jazz or classical pianist but it wasn't like Paul McCartney getting on the piano and playing Let it Be or something. There was nothing pedestrian about it.
