Which rehearsals are these from, would definitely like to hear these, especially if Stick Like Glue doesn't have the lame rap from the studio version

As for me I think the performance of Noon Rendezvous on the Neon Rendezvous bootleg is just gorgeous, ditto with that 10 minute performance of Bedtime Story that's on the same rehearsal as When Doves Scream. He really draws out those two songs and brings a power and melancholy to them that the Sheila E studio versions can't match, as much as I enjoy them in their own right.

Cheers, I guess I tend to immediately think of the 80s, and especially the Purple Rain period, when I'm reflecting on Prince's best rehearsals, but there are definitely some latter day gems I need to become more accustomed with.

i found it in an indie record shop here in seattle, it's actually pretty good, the quality isn't great but it's eye opening. It has to be somewhere in the ATWIAD period give or take a year, wendy and lisa are there and it's interesting to hear prince-the leader telling them to have fun but play it right at the same time. His voice, un-eq'ed really sounds like the voice of a small person, munchkin like in a way it never came across on the professionally recorded stuff. The song for the sex of it was a song he gave to kid creole, there were mostly live versions of songs from atwiad.

never really checked out the soundchecks, anyone have any recomendations for the best / where to start please?

I love how he teaches the bass line. And it 's a pretty amazing one, especially in the descent starting on the second part of the verse, my mind does a mistake everytime until I finally get it (I'm the slow type).

That's around 1.000.000 bucks a year, and believe me, you can repackage it to death, given that you'll have a turn-over of 5 years per subscriber (could be ten, or for nutcases like me, a lifetime — but I want exclusives goodies). That's only 200 000 sales a year, but hey. Then ou have all the extras: soloing the song in Paisley Park, on the SSL G series.

The way he worked, I would pay a lifetime subscription if we had, say once a year, a full song session on multitrack (one of SKipper's websites had this back in '98 or '99, does someone know?). Or maybe was it Bowie? I think the mixer in the NPMGMusic Club was not a multitrack where you could mute each instrument, but I'm pretty sure Bowie did it on his website at some point.

I mean I would wet my pants, get high as the Eiffel Tower (in all senses, know what I mean?).

Imagine: we would know how many first takes there are.
