Let's be honest the whole Bruno thing was pretty bad.
Aside from the Madonna tribute, which everyone seemed to hate the minute they saw it, others tended to be well received initially. I know on Facebook and Twitter and in the media everyone was praising Bruno's performance. I thought it was awful. Lenny's performance didn't wow me either but I definitely preferred it over Bruno's.
The only tribute I had a problem with was Madonna's. The rest were fine.
Lenny's did not wow me either. He was good but I had hoped he would do he solo on the first song too.
D'Angelo and Carlos Santana were better than Lenny, but people have forgotten about those already.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Unfortunately NBC removed his performance so it's damn near impossible to find. I loved it (though I could do without Maya Rudolph).
I thought Prince would have loved that - the choir sounded just like the audience (I actually at first thought it was the audience - and you know how much he loved audience participation
I like how he revamped WDC instead of the same copied versions. He caught the ghost a bit there too lol.
They rocked The Cross, too bad it was just a truncated verson (of both songs).
Craig got off on the guitar solo and Gail Anne Dorsey from Bowies last band was nice on WDC too
So it was Graig and Gail... I was wondering... (I watched it on my mobile, small screen, hard to see) Nice to know that I guessed right. Thanx for confirming this!
2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Complete Prince Tribute by Lenny Kravitz
I love, love, love his version of When Doves Cry!!!! This is how you do it, change it up....don't do it just like P, make it your own. Love Lenny for this. I've always loved Lenny but this performance just makes me respect him so much more.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
Lenny's tribute was awesome! I loved it! Not many people can pull off that good of a performance of When Doves Cry. I hope that the RRHOF posts official high-quality videos of Lenny's performance.
Live 4 Love ~ Love is God, God is love, Girls and boys love God above
Absolutely.... I'm not a fan of Lenny but I loved his performance. The best tribute yet. As someone else mentioned, D'Angelo and Carlos Santana were great as well. I just like the arrangement Lenny did with WDC.

I just particularly enjoyed the Jaggeresque dance moves that dropped out of nowhere! They were terrific fun.

Yes, loved D'Angelo's and Lenny's performance the most. Bet tribute was moving as well.
it sure would be nice, though, if more people would pay tribute to the fact that prince made some excellent records that weren't recorded more than 25 years ago...
yes i got a simle with the Jagger dance as well.when he pony danced and thru his head back.and the way he held the tamborine....whish he would have played Tamborine..can ya dig it!

Really liked this one. Lenny is a musician and it makes all difference. And he is not a corny guy (it makes a difference too).
But I am curious about something: the videos of Prince´s performances at the RRHOF were professionally filmed with several cameras. I only saw one-camera versions of Lenny´s. What happened?
