on a ligher note=what colors best suited Prince's complexion I noticed looking at one of those pictures of prince without makeup that I posted that he may have had a little bit of rosecea. I have have rosecea and I assumed African Americans do not get this disorder (which is sensitive skin that turns red.). Apparently, sometimes they do (see article below). Anyhow, in that picture Prince is wearing red--a color that people with rosecea are told never to wear.
Having redness in your skin doesn't make you ugly but it can be annoying, so I tend to wear foundation to work no matter what (Even though I kind of hate wearing makeup.)
On a lighter note, like the subject heading says, what colors does prince look best in? (regardless of whether you think he might or might not have had mild rosecea)
I like Prince in purple of course, blue, white, and creamy yellow the most. I like him less in oranges, teals, lime greens, or reds. The colors of his clothes are probably less important than the styles..it must be said.

I think he looks wonderful in black, white and silvery grey. Awesome in magenta and orange and of course purple brocade is over the top. Don't care for contrasting color pants and jacket however.

white gold/bronze yellow peach green pink dark magenta purple black
I think the texture/fabric makes a difference in how the colors work too though
I think deep reds work, but not brighter reds

I think he picked purple and violet as this theme colors partially because it suited him so well. Deep, luxurious colors really complimented his skin tone. It really was his color, plus he seemed to associate positively with purple and violet things. For instance, he wore lavender cologne everywhere.
Black, gold and dark reds worked well with him too. I never thought he ever quite pulled off yellow, browns or blue, though.

Pale blue and white. That suit he wore at the 2011 NAACP awards was drop dead gorgeous.

Royal Purple was his "signature" color and he wore it so well. Stunning. He also pulled off deep reds, golds, black and even white looked divine on him. Those would be my top picks. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

The man could and did get away with wearing paisley. ALL colors looked good on him. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
