Follow-up Albums that Reaffirmed to You That Prince was Indeed Still the Man Just curious what albums confirmed to that Prince was still so creative, so musically gifted, the best. Usually these may follow records that were relative letdowns in his catalog.
I think for me it was a huge relief to hear 3121 , I bought and played it in full in the parking lot before I left, my initial response was elation, now that is Prince is and what he should sound like, a little more out there weird and risk taking than the slightly generic, Prince lite Musicology, of course I still enjoyed songs on that album, particularly, Reflection, title track and to a lesser degree Cinnamon Girl and Dear Mr. Man, but cannot name all the track off the top of my head, a rarity in the Prince catalog.
3121 sounded so much like hes back for real and repeated listens confirmed this is great, moving music, yes I am indeed a sucker for Beautiful, Loved and Blessed , and Get On the Boat. Loved Fury, 3121, the Word, Incense and Candles.
Anyway, just asking others to share follow up moments in Princes catalog that reminded you what a truly inspired artist he was merf

I thought Musicology and 3121 were good not great, but certainly the best since Emancipation. I feel Plectrumelectrum and Art Official Age were his best since The Gold Experience - though not quite as good as 'Gold. To me, everything post Love Symbol doesn't match up to it. And everything before it is uncomparable.
