Anybody else have a help from a Angel, phenomen, esp or something letting u know Purple Rain was on the year Anniversary Night of Prince leaving us. I did and it was Weird because I didn't even know it was on and I usually don't scroll deep on the tv channels like I did that night. And I was like Wow there's Purple Rain on tonight, started watching and recording it again. Sure had Mixed Emotions watching it again, some funny like certain things Prince said to Apollonia and Morris acting a fool. razz lol But then a sad spot scenes knowing P ain't here no more! sad

Not sure if Angels had anything to do with it, but I'll share this story. I took the day off and went to see Purple Rain at the movies with my sister on Friday the 21st to honor Prince. Last year when I saw it in the theater, it was a celebration, people clapping to the music, singing and dancing, and many tears. This year I noticed people sat through the movie to actually watch it. After it was over though, after the credits rolled, blank screen, no one got up to leave. We all just sat there staring at the screen, not wanting to leave Prince, not wanting to say goodbye I think... Maybe just not wanting to leave each other. It was strange, but really touching.

sad got sad reading this, it's to hard to say goodbye.
That would be great if every theater did this on the same date every year...

It's really interesting the point you raise, like the lyric from Sometimes it snows in April, "Love, isn't Love, until it's gone". It's not until after his passing people genuinely realised his genius, his contribution. He was so special.

It was in New York City at the IFC movie theater in Manhattan. It's not a huge venue. It was a very intimate setting, maybe holds around fifty people.

Yes, it really felt heavy there after the movie was over. It was weird because we all knew it. The whole place went quite. When I heard the dead silence I looked around and realized what was happening. I was actually the one to break the ice. I can't believe it now looking back because I'm actually a pretty unsocial person, but I yelled out to no one in particular, I LOVE YOU PRINCE! lol Lol. Everyone started laughing and we all came back to life... I hope to do it again next year. It was good just being around other people who loved him as much.

Theater in Manhattan maybe only holding 50 people, Wow, wouldn't believe such a small theater would exist in Big Manhattan...
