It appears to be true about the UMG deal http://www.billboard.com/...llion-dealI understand that representatives for the estate need to be paid, but a 10% commission just for negotiating the deal!? Doesn't this create a conflict of interest? |

He is the one that helped put the deal together so how could he not know what the WB deal entiled?
The sibs also want some documents from when he was managing Prince which is refusing to provide and Comerica does not want him to even look at any deals they are working on. Dude is posion to the estate. |

Dude was poison to Prince's career... Dare I say even worse than Larry? But then again Prince was so susceptible to them it's pathetic...

He helped Prince walk away from WB without getting sued out of exsistence. I believe he did crooked stuff down the road and if he is forced to turn over the documents like the family wants it will all come out.

Agreed. Anyone who was a hardcore fan in the late 90s knows that he was an incompetent sychophant from the beginning, who knew nothing about Prince's music or legacy, or why his actions were hurting it.

Why because it was hard to for you to get bootlegs. Whatever he did he was directed to do by Prince and giving his music away has nothing to do with his legacy. |

Yeah....cuz THAT'S what alienated his fanbase...making it hard 2 get BOOTLEGS.
Couldn't have ANYTHING 2 do with something like....suing every fan group left and right 4 using the symbol....even though that was the legal NAME OF HIS FREAKING CLIENT !!!
Or suing fan magazines that had been around 4 years 4 the same reason...as well as simply DISCUSSING bootlegs....not SELLING them mind u....just acknowledging that they even EXISTED !!! [Edited 5/11/17 10:43am] ::Official Member of the 1978-1995 Club:: |

Anything he did he did at the direction of his client. If fan groups were promoting bootlegs or using his symbol which he copyrighted than they could be sued. As far as I know most people actually received cease and desist letters with none of the actions actually going to trial.
Did Prince need fans who were selling bootleg material? |

Can we just say a lot of the problem with these advisors, consultants, etc., that Prince had is that they were not the right people for their jobs. They did not have the experience to handle a client at Prince's level, and it was Prince's fault that he hired them. I am sure he thought he was brilliant so he could help them or guide them. But they were good for Joe Schmo, the garage band leader down the street - okay. Internationcal icon Prince: no. He needed someone like John Eastman (Paul McCartney's BIL) or John Branca (MJ's guy). Top of the game people who knew the music business. |

Londell had a good rep back then. He is an attorney who came out of the Ivy league he was not working for the Tom and Jerry lawfirm when Prince came along.
I think he just got greedy and he could be a little nutty but when you tell lies after lie it gets hard to keep up with your own stories. |

I agree . I just find it ironic he says one thing in that article then you read the recent court declaration he made and sigh...it just makes my head hurt! |

Nope, not because he made it harder to get bootlegs. He just made a lot of decisions that were detrimental to Prince's career, and he failed to give Prince good advice.
