I would love to see a hard cover book about his influence on fashion, with all eras on chronological order, well chosen pics in quality gloss paper, and as an extra all his guitars in detail. One can only dream...

I'm pretty sure the look he had in 1989 was the only time he had no moustache ,even the moustache woud be styled differenty every year.

Do you think his puffy shirt, Edwardian fop look was in honor of Mozart and the Romantic Era composers?

Not sure of the reason but I'm glad he did. Kept things fresh and also helps us identify the period when we find new pictures of him these days!

"Need to"? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I thought so too, I had that original photo from the magazine and I thought it was late 89 but I think there is a photo on a website that that labelled in 1991 those pants looks similar to the style of the others he is wearing in the other pictures next to this one

Why is this question being asked about Prince as if he's the only artist to ever do this?

I love that he changed his look with each album era. It helped make each one unique, just like the music. Dirty Mind and 1999 are only two years apart, but they seem like different worlds when you look at his style and listen to the sound. And often his current look told you what the music was going to sound like and where his head was at. I loved it.

Bowie created characters along with his music as performance art (The Thin White Duke, etc.). "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Seems to me he changed his look every day; often several times in one day. That's just the way he rolled.

Where the hell do some of you people come from??
You're probably dressed right now in your JC Penny Van Huesen and effed up khakis and shit, talking about dude shouldnt have changed his look/style in 35 years.
Do you still dress and keep the same hairstyle you did when you were 18? (Probably do lol).
You want the same assed image for a career? Then go be an Eagles fan. Their asses wore T shirts n jeans their whole boring career.
This is Prince we are ta..oh fuck it. Some of yall a lost cause
