So, my friend in L.A. worked for Toni Braxton for years, Motown, and other such entertainment things.

I asked her recently if she had ever run into Prince. She said, "I didn't tell you that story?!"

In March 1985, the PR tour went through Long Island, NY for a few dates. In the middle of that, there was a party at Studio 54 for Prince, the band, the movie, etc etc. My friend was in charge of the VIP area. She spent a lot of money on the VIP room for him (there was a rider), and there were a lot of details for it. She was working on it until the time he practically walked into the place.

She said she got word that he was coming. So they cleared out, and in came Prince. She said he was pretty, and smelled good. He walked in, tour the room about 15-seconds, said, "Looks nice." Then walked out and was never seen in there again.

She went on and on about how she spent so much time and effort w/ her team on that room, but he was in there not even a whole minute.

I finally stopped her and said, "You realize he's Prince, right?"

It was on my birthday, too. I told y'all, Prince had a soft spot for me.
