* disbanding the multi-racial Revolution in favor of another multi-racial band * retaining a white member of the Revolution in the new band * recording tracks that dissed an emerging black art form (hip hop) * recording duets with white singers like Sheena Easton and sundry other things made him "more black" in order to qualm his insecurities. Now, if you put it that way...good response Nu!

Prince wanted to do something different. I do not think it was a race issue or anything. He probably felt they were slowing him down. He wanted to move on to the next phase.

Wow, and all this time I thought Prince was trying to be White. Oopps I'm sorry that's M. Jackson who is now white.

You can't really use stylistics of his music to back up your point because Prince has many times changed his style from album to album.

The premise is legit, that Prince sabotaged the Rev. the proposed conclusion that he did so b/c of his racial insecurities is silly. Prince sabotaged the Revolution, i.e., disbanded it, because he craves change every so often, and in my opinion, he was scared of the influence his bandmates, particularly Wendy and Lisa, were having on him. Plus, he seemed to be a real jerk at the time.
How many bands/bandmates has he unceremoniously dumped over the years? How many bandmates have abruptly left b/c they can't deal with him anymore? And don't you hope he'll do the same thing to Larry Graham someday? Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I was so glad he wasn't at the shows last year. What show are you talking about? On this day last year in NYC Prince was at Avery Fisher Hall and Larry with his Wife got up on stage. Q-Tip was there too but he had a hard time on the mic trying to rap without cursing! Does Larry own any other clothes besides that white suit???
