1999 The New Master

Who wrote the rap lyrics, Prince or Doug E ?? I didn't see a clear answer on Prince vault.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

It's probably safe to assume the Doug E. Fresh did. He let Tony M., Eve & others write their own flow.

However, Princevault does say that the Deep House mix reuses a Doug rap from "Guess? Who?".

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I'm not sure if it was on that EP or another Doug E./Prince collab but I think maybe the Keepsteppin' mix? Anyway, the line "The truth some people hear it some people fear it" is from the Dough E. Fresh track 'Spirit' on the 1989 Ghostbuster II OST, with the words "the truth" replacing the word "spirit".

I loved Parke's artwork on this one. I loved the gold CD, too. I just hated the level of crap on the CD. I have the 12" on purple vinyl - and purchased solely for that reason. It sure's ta fuq wasn't because I wanted that "nice, mid-level warmth" that vinyl can provide on the goddamn In A Deep House mix of a classic Prince song
