Funny how when you buy a CD colors your experience of it. When I bought Chaos and Disorder I found it to be perhaps his biggest disappointment at the time. I didn't buy New Power Soul until after he passed and I was surprised how good it was compared to what I had heard. Now when I compare the albums here Chaos and Disorder wins handily (8 to 3).

5. was a tough one, but I just had to admit to myself that I enjoy listening to Right The Wrong More. It might be a jokey throwaway track, but it doesn't drag like Shoo-Bed-Ooh does.

So, this one doesn't surprise me. I would have chosen C&D based on the full album. In fact, Dinner with Delores is probably just about as strong as Until U're in My Arms Again. Push It Up won only because I really love the part where "Push It Up" gets repeated while they push their voices up (yes, it's a super obvious thing to do, but I still love it)--oh, and I hate the cops on Zannalee. I Will works fantastically with Into the Light, but on its own is a bit slight--so The One got the nod. Wasted Kisses, while not a truly great song, is up against Had U (nice enough for what it is). Freaks on This Side is the clear winner in its battle--but only because, as I've said elsewhere, I really dislike I Rock Therefore I Am. Freaks would have lost most competitions it was in.

C&D is a highly superior album to NPS. It's apples and oranges, really, but still.

No contest for me! New Power Soul wins every time! New Power Soul is one of my favorite Prince albums. The whole entire album is absolutely amazing! It's my go to album whenever I need cheering up... Don't care what anyone says, love this album to pieces!

Agreed. Both albums are uneven, but overall, C&D has aged better.

But I can't take "Into The Light" (which I like), over "Come On" (one of his best post-80's songs).
