Which album woul u like 2 see studio footage of? I have always wanted 2 see actual footage of Prince at work in the studio. Although TRC is not my favorite album i would love 2 see footage of him working on and recording this one. if i had one wish 2 have anything from his vault it would be the studio work of this particular album. do any of u have any particular album that u would have liked 2 see the behind the scenes making of?

Ooooh...this is a toughie. I think either 1999 or Parade - because I love both albums and think he was in opposite headspaces for them. 1999 has a really cold, dark sound that works with its post apocalyptic theme. Parade is just sunny and warm and south of France - especially when you toss in related stuff like Alexa de Paris. He was a happy man when he was making that album. It would have been amazing to witness that in person. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

easy... For You...just to see him before the fame and pretense kicked in...when he was still hungry and didnt know who he was, or what he would become... before the makeup and perm and tailored ruffles and trenchcoats and assless pants ... before Lisa and Wendy and Suzannah and Steve Fargnoli ... back when Pepe' Willie and Owen Husney and Andre' Anderson were still in his circle...

I would pick Around the world in a day just witnessing where he was mentality with the success of Purple Rain still fresh. The shorter hair, the clothes, the whole vibe was defiance and the sound of courage to take a demo of Lisa's brother and make it the title of your new album right after the monster movie/soundtrack PR. Seeing him collaborate with Claire Fischer for the time through the mail would have been an amazing process to witness. Love this time in his career with Parade just on the horizon. He didn't cut his hair until after the album was finished - The Ladder was the last track recorded, in December 84, but the Purple Rain tour continued until April.
Also, his first collab with Claire Fisher was on The Family (and Parade the first of his own records).

N.E.W.S. To be a fly on the whole that afternoon while Prince and crew noodled around for a bit... [Edited 3/7/17 16:58pm]

And the Mavis Staples sessions. And there seems to be some of him in the very late 80s jamming. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

I'd love to see the various sessions that became Dream Factory, Crystal Ball, Sign O the Times, Camille and The Black Album. Watching Prince's mental state deteriorate over that time would be a really interesting story.

For You. But I'd most want to see footage of Prince in Chris Moon's studio working on his demos. Would be very cool to see the genius in his early days while he was still learning and refining his craft.

SOTT seems like the Go-To answer for me. But, I love the story of the first four songs in Parade, and how he recorded them. That would be great to see. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I want to see videos of him creating those linn drum beats, and rehearsing with the revolution while creating PR in the "warehouse". Ooo..and when he layed down the beats for the first few Parade songs in one take, and just him playing the drums in general!!

Exactly. Studio footage is a real missing piece from a historical perspective. Btw- the fanbase should be calling for a high art documentary of his musical life.
