As far as I'm aware he never said anything publicly. I'm sure he was aware of it though.

I think MJ was quite aware of what Prince did publically as much as Prince kept up with MJ's career and music. For two huge artists to not be on each other's radar is illogical, for sure.

To the OP, it wasn't MJ's place to judge it publically, or issue some statement on it, or whatever. And if it were to ever be brought up in an interview, he'd probably be kind and say it was great (because it was anyway).
