As soon as anyone gets their Cloud in, could you please post pictures of the case and everything that comes with it?
Thanks, in advance, guys!!

Got mine today. Only looked at it for a brief moment. Letting it simmer at home while I am at work.
Two things to note:
UPS delivery is 21+ in person signature. I had to go deep into East Brooklyn to pick mine up at the UPS center this morning.
Purple square case. Purple interior.
No Love Symbol inbetween the pickups.
Pictures when I get home (6:30pm EST) Double Peace

Please do, as I've been eyeballing that very site. As long as they look dynamite I'll probably go for it, cuz I can't play a lick.

On a side note...
playing Prince notes on guitar ain't easy!
I've been trying to play 'Clocking the Jizz' on guitar...
Shit...some of those notes that sort of blend together are damn near impossible to figure out by ear.
You know the ones I'm talking about...that multilayered sound.
Alright, maybe not figure out...but replicating...trying to sound exactly like P does.
That sound is difficult and I'm pretty sure P didn't use any studio trickery to do it.
This shit may take months to figure out.

Cool.
How does it sound? Is it a regular sized guitar or what? What song are you going to try to play first?

DaveT said: I've dreamed about owning a Cloud for years and finally took the plunge recently ordering one from RareElectricGuitar website. Never used them before but did a bit of research and they seem ok. As I mentioned on another thread, I purchased a cloud on that website. Aesthetically it looks beautiful, but the fret work is absolutely awful. Each Fret has a different length. Dead notes all up and down the neck. I had to get my cloud guitar totally Re-fretted. I hope your guitar turns out better than mine, bro.

. You could just get one and sand it down and go with a nice peach color. That would be the one for me, as the only song I can play on the guitar (other than a weirdly chorded When Doves Cry, which would require a white one, although more realistically, a Hohner Anderson Madcat) is the intro to The Cross. (I know, I know...)

. . Makes me want a bass again, that I can at least play (somewhat). There's no particular type of bass associated with Prince though, apart from the warwick thumb one eyed bass. But I much prefer it in its natural wood colour than the painted version. . On the other hand... I could try and find the bass that the clouds are based on, that Andre had in the late 70s. My cloud came in 2 days ago and looks just as stunning. I really like the effort Schecter put into making a decent case for this guitar. Making it in purple was just the right thing to do. I haven't had a chance to play with my guitar yet but I did pull out the Chinese copy I bought last year just to compare. The Schecter is by far the better guitar. The quality is there with fit and finish, hardware, and real EMG pickups. I noticed the upper scrolled horn is spaced right and allows me to move up the fretboard freely. The Chinese copy always seemed a little tight in that area for me. The overall size ( which looks small ) is about the same on both guitars. One difference that I noticed between the guitars that I actually like better on the Chinese guitar is the headstock. It's shaped nicer, the scroll looks better and the upper point is longer with a slight curve to the left. The Schecter's is short and straight. The location of the switch and knobs is different too. The Chinese guitar has the knobs too close together. The Schecter has them spaced right for this guitar I think. Not sure what the nut is made of, looks like plastic. I wish they would have used brass like the original. The Chinese guitar has hand painted fret markers, the Schecter markers look a lot cleaner and sharper. They must have used a different method. The bevel on the Schecter looks closer to the original, it's about an inch thick. The Chinese guitars bevel is only about 1/2". That always bothered me, the original had a really thick bevel around the guitars body. I am so glad they chose to leave the gold symbol between the pickups off on this guitar. I was worried when I saw a picture of the new Schecter at the NAMM show. It clearly had the symbol on that guitar. So that's all I can come up with now. I'm glad it finally came in and didn't mind paying the price ($1785) for this limited edition Paisley Park exclusive cloud guitar. I hope you enjoy yours too.

I read in an earlier post that the nut is a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL. I've never had a guitar with a nut made of this material so I'm not sure if it's true. If someone knows please confirm. Thanks

I don't think the blue ones have shipped yet. Paisley Park had the white ones they were selling in the merchandise area, but they said they didn't have the blue ones yet. I would love a peach one or the blue angel color one. Not sure if we'll ever see purple from them. Prince never had a purple one, as far as I know. TRUE BLUE

It just fitting, the cloud and purple are synonymous with Prince I think.

Agreed. I heard there was a pink one, but have never seen it. Hopefully the new instrument book from Paisley Park will have photos of all 121 guitars. I remember reading an article from one of his guitar techs, many years ago, that the clouds were painted over, rather than getting new ones. The orginal peach one and blue angel may not even exist anymore. I was at a party/show at Paisley Park back in '95 and Prince had just done a video shoot for I Like It There. There were a lot of guitars hanging from the sound stage ceiling. It was never officially released, but you can find it online. TRUE BLUE
