What is your preferred format for vault releases

Not asking about physical vs download and not asking about specific tracks etc.

I am interested on the way in which songs are collected and which approach people would prefer?

Here are some examples, you may have other ideas...

1. Remastered deluxe editions of every Prince album (as per upcoming Purple Rain) with additional CD(s) of out takes and unreleased vault tracks from relevant era.

2. Standalone vault releases that only contain unreleased songs grouped together by era/year they were recorded.

3. Standalone vault releases that group unreleased songs together by "theme" (what I mean here is, for example, Madhouse and Jazzy tracks together rather than mixed with different styles)

4. Original versions of albums that did not get released such as The Rebels, Dream Factory, Crystal Ball, 1989 Rave Unto, 1993 Come, The Dawn (if it ever existed), Madrid 2 Chicago (if it ever existed) Etc

5. Some other approach?

And yes theoretically you could do 1, 2 or 3, and 4 at the same time due to the volume of songs in the Vault (but I guess to make it viable each release needs a few "big/very desired" tracks that are the main "draw" for people.

I don't care how they're released, I just want to hear as much as possible before I leave this mortal plane.

I would prefer : 2. Standalone vault releases that only contain unreleased songs grouped together by era/year they were recorded.

A nice format for everyone who wants to easily see the song's place in Prince's history.

2. and definitely 4.

5. FLAC releases with PDF artwork for every concert recorded and DVD\Blu-Ray releases of Pro shot concerts.

Thanks but I was not asking about the technical delivery, I was interested in the collection/collation method.

CD albums, as they were originally intended.

Definitely #2. It would be cool to hear the studio albums remastered, but I don't want to have to buy each set just to own the unreleased material in a non-digital format. #4 would also be nice, especially if they came with the artwork (even just placeholder art) that Prince intended them to have, and any sort of in depth liner notes detailing the album-making process.

All online streaming is the same quality, equal to CD quality in terms of what we can hear.

Sorry, misread this - guess I am still dreaming about an "all (vault) doors open NPG music club" for a flat fee - a TIDAL for Prince afficionados with music and (live) videos and interviews etc...

But if things get released physically, then I would prefer 1 and 4 (and hopefully both in a remastered form that improves on the CD sounds currently available...)

#2 and #4 are what I would prefer. I think #1 is more likely, though, and I'd be satisfied with that, too. #3 is the only one I'm averse to. I don't want different eras mixed up.

Not if they're bootlegs with god awful quality, that are offensive to P's legacy, tasteful music listeners, audiophiles (the ones who find bad quality painful to listen to, not the 'placebo effect' ones).

well, obviously. You never know, I might even like the original In A Large Room With No Light, if I finally got to hear it in decent quality. Can't stand shitty mulit-generation copies.

And call it just THE VAULT Collection. Everybody will know what you are talking about. Just selling 100,000 box-sets for let's say $100 and it would be great business for his fam.
