I'm usually a big fan of the BBC, but they've been appalling about Prince. Not a single tribute on TV and very little on the radio. Even on the day he died it wasn't the main news story of the day (the queen's birthday was). | |

This is a great alternative to the Reelz produced biography about Prince with that Prince impersonator that incorrectly mentioned Prince died on April 23rd. At this point, with the connections that former Prince associates have, there is no excuse for these people to not vet vultures wanting to exploit his death for their entertainment. I wouldn't know about that - I know that Craig Charles did a programme about Prince on the day he died, or just after, on 6 Music and they did have that tales from the Vault show a little while back. I was alerted to this show being broadcast by a friend of mine in the UK. I just thought I'd share the news.

In defence of the BBC (I work for them!) it depends which programmes you listen to or watch. Certainly, where I am - BBC World Service radio - there are many Prince fans and there's been quite a lot of coverage. It was very much top story on the day he died - we spoke to Bobby Z, Susan Rogers and many others associated with Prince that day, and have done other stories since.

Wow so he rescheduled a Dubai performance that was slated to happen on 4/21 for...10/7. He was officially pronounced deceased at 10:07 on 4/21.  Paisley Park is in your heart

Thankyou! Also in defence of the BBC I would love its critics to live un a parallel universe without it. God un this day n age it feels like a bloody lifeboat. People to the right n left called it bias. Well they can't both be right | |

That was quite nice, actually. Two things:
1. I made it until "Glam Slam" before I blubbed like a baby. 2. It make it impossible to decide what Prince's greatest song was.
Oh, and thank you BBC radio for the debuts of so many of Prince's songs on radio in the UK. A shame the latter part of his career didn't feature quite so much. | |

A nice upbeat trubute. Nice selection of songs as well but again focused on his 80's & 90's output Still, much better than that insult of a documentary! It was so nice to hear "under the cherry moon" on mainstream national radio. I must admit I shed a tear there.
Trying to stay upbeat but tomorrow will be tough

Britain redeemed! A quality audio doc that entirely offsets that dreadful Channel 5 trainwreck. In direct contradiction of that piece of garbage's viewpoint: "Prince was generally a very happy person." | |
