First: I think this is a great thread with an eclectic list of songs and artist. It speaks to the true nature of Prince's music and range!

Sistermidnight- Iggy Pop

Jump Into the Fire- Harry Nillson

the Dream- Culture Club

Think It Over- The Cars

Do You Dream in Color? Bill Nelson

Magic- Olivia Newton John

Crosseyed and Painless- Talking Heads

The Makings of You- Curtis Mayfield

The Whole of the Moon- The Waterboys

Am I the only one who had a hard time picking rnb and funk songs? Sly Stone and James Brown seemed too obvious. Funkadelic is hard to do without sounding like Funkadelic. Prince always sounded best playing his own brand of funk and soul.

I almost said 'Magic' by ONJ!!!

Plus

I think Prince could done something great with 'Not Just Knee Deep' by Funkadelic.

No offense, but your answers are all crap. Clearly I'm the only person with a half-way decent taste in music.

My choices would be:

Horny '98 - Mousse T.

Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinéad O'Connor

Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice

Yes he did on a few shows around 2011. Never witnessed it myself, but I heard some live recordings. But I guess it was mostly because he knew it from Adele... But yes, the song was played a few times.

I love Adele, but not way anyone could make it justice to that song as Dylan,

I could imagine him doing an acoustic version, similar to I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man during that MTV Musiciology special in '04, storytelling.

So it wouldn't be that different, STOF is an accoustic song.

If You Want Me To Stay nad Family Affair by Sly And The Family Stone.

There was a Prince cover of this song on the Tube sometime this last year I remember ripping it. Not sure what year it was from but it's a pretty faithful cover.

EDIT: Just found it was from the the One Night Alone Tour (featuring Questlove and Musiq Souldchild)
