The snippet of If It'll Make U Happy...OMG...

It's a perfect pop song - a brilliant, lilting reggae-inspired little number that could have been a big hit for almost anyone.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT WAS RECORDED in 1982 AND PRINCE - IN THE MIDST OF WRITING AND RECORDING 1999, THE SECOND THE TIME ALBUM, THE DEBUT VANITY 6 ALBUM, ETC. - JUDGED IT AS UNWORTHY OR 'BACK BURNER'???!!!

He was like a supernova back then...just an endless font of masterpeices...

It is astounding suggestion of his talent that he could jot off these incredible "minor" songs.

He always did pick album structure over collecting up the best songs and putting them in the vessel of a ten track album.

It feels effortless, light, breezy, whimsical and it makes me happy (I can't answer for her), but it is one of those songs I enjoy people talking about. Prince literally wrote hundreds of songs and every time the press covers him it is Purple Rain singer Prince, or the Artist........ Prince.

A hidden gem, that luckily we can discuss on the org.

It literally skims along on melody like a pebble skipped over Lake Minnetonka (or wherever Prince took Apples for the movie)

Agreed - a truly fantastic gem.

This is one of my top 5 favorite Prince outtakes ever. And we almost got it on Crystal Ball II... damn shame. Hopefully before I die of old age.
