WKYC's Monica Robins was with Senior Director Andy Leach at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Library & Archive checking out all the material on Prince.

The archives and library have items from artists, managers, concert venues and media, among many other sources.

Library material is available 1-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays but you need to call ahead for archive material.

As for that comment about "lame art books" and being "a waste of time and effort," and "look at me photos," --- he's kind of right! I mean, I love Prince- I am a fan but that book he did- I don't even remember the name - the purple one that came out around 2010 or so (maybe sooner- maybe it was the 3121 time) someone here will correct me-- but I hated that book! All those poses Prince with an umbrella, Prince in his closet touching his shirts, __ I love looking at Prince but I agree that it seemed pretentious and I didn't see the point. Of course, Prince is always changing so anytime he would seem to "lose me," he would turn around and do something amazing and get me back -- as a fan--- but I can see what he's saying.

Prince was what is known as a public figure. it was his job to do that stuff.

now you're entitled to 'hate' his 2010 boook if you like, but others did not. and your personal opinion would still not justify an attack on Prince's character.

as for being 'pretentious' now, if you were to engage in such activity it would be quite ludicrous indeed!! and extremely pretentious because 'you' are not a superstar.

but Prince was literally an international superstar. this is what superstars do. they promote their own image and sell it to make money. it was his JOB.

I came home from a tour of the HoF archives to find this, and I was so disappointed that I hadn't seen it ahead fo time. I _did_ get to see Hendrix' original handwritten lyrics to Purple Haze, though. (The object in the exhibit is a VERY GOOD reproduction.)

BUT now I'm staying two more days to go look - because my flight got cancelled (Thanks, Prince! Guess you liked the paper I gave here?)!
