The dirty nonsense I did with that CD. "I don't make the rules. I just play"

I made a remix album of this, using almost all remixes. I enjoy it sometimes instead of the album itself, but I love both.
Made a cover, too.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Scififilmnerd's 2009 series of threads was remarkable and super informative. It's good to see people still refer to them 8 years later A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Agree, I remember reading this Come thread. And I'll probably read it again in work today..

I must have gone through a fallow period with the ORG back then as never saw this article. Reading it now. Very interesting. I will take issue with the opening statement about Batman though! It seems popular and revisionist to slag off Batman as being a huge disappointment (creatively) after the run of albums before which had become increasingly complex in arrangements etc culminating in the Lovesexy sound. However, Batman was just another creative curve ball thrown by Prince in his continuing musical evolution, albeit a stripped back electronic sound that jarred with the warm dense complicated Lovesexy arrangements. In fact Batman (to me at least) feels like a logical extension of where Prince had been going with The Black Album. The other thing negative reviews of Batman seem to forget is that many of the songs on the album were originally part of the planned 1989 Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album that was shelved for Batman and then evolved into Grafitti Bridge minus the tracks used on Batman. Remove Batdance and the spoken parts taken from the movie and the songs on Batman fit fine with GB (and would have actually made a stronger album if focused purely on Prince songs instead of including people like Tevin Campbell). Anyway that's my 2 pence...back to the article on Come! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Hmmm this isn't a completely original bit of writing though is it? The sections titled "The Contract" and "The Start of the Friction Years" feel almost verbatim for something I have read before, just cannot place it yet! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Aha got it, knew I had read this before...
This is an almost verbatim copy of The Vault by Uptown!!!! Is scififilmnerd anything to do with the Uptown team? I can see a sources section at the bottom mentioning Days of Wild (precursor to The Vault) but I am surprised by this article being almost verbatim! I would say that is more than just using it as a source! However, I am not taking away from what is still a great collection of information on this and the other "ultimate threads" which must have been an immense effort and provides a great read. Yes. Hopefully he/she is writing a book somewhere. These are the kind of people that should be advising WB, Universal and the Estate. Come was underrated brilliance. I also loved the album art and photography.

Those were basically taken from the Days of Wild book. The article is a putting together of like, 15 different sources into a whole, so you only need to reed this article to get the full story of what is known instead of having to read 15 different things for the full picture - I did it for you. This and your other "ultimate" threads are really helpful in pulling together all those sources so belated thanks from 2009 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. Thank you, Istensexy. It's good to see my Ultimate threads are still brought up from time to time. Just a couple of weeks ago, an orger sent me a message about the Emancipation article that you contributed some information to. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

That'd be great to read more from you again. There are a few of us doing different things... You with your WB Wars articles and the list of recording sessions (that would be in need of a major update by the way, and I ain't gonna be the one to do it ), me with my discography website (and I can't thank enough all the orgers who've helped me with proofreading, additional info and missing pieces of the puzzle over the years), Madhouseman with his super promising studio sessions research for his upcoming books, and of course Princevault with this awesome database they've been building, other people interviewing former associates for various podcasts or blogs, and hopefully whomever ends-up being curators for the estate will do a great professional job... With Prince gone I feel, in all humility considering the greatness of the musician whose memory we're trying to honor, that we have a responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations, because when our generation is gone then it'll become a matter for historians, while we are the ones who are living witnesses of Prince's musical journey... Just to say you're among those people who can bring a really cool contribution to this collective work, and I'll be super happy if you keep adding to your past reseach It'd be nice if you had a blog or website instead of just easily forgotten/lost threads on the org BTW A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I am honored that you include me with all those orgers.
My thoughts on publishing updated versions of my articles do seem to center around creating a blog for them.
I've continously updated my list of recording sessions - even going so far as to now include edits. We'll see about finding an outlet for that...
