Wow- Pee Wee Herman in character - cute! Thank you Latin! This is great! I had to rewind Prince walking through 3 times smile Some guy on there said this is how Old Hollywood Premiere's used to be and I so agree, miss those times. .. thank you, Latin lol

I LOVED this! Thank you so much, Latin. I had only ever seen brief clips of the premiere before this. Great footage. Superfan1984 I did the same as you, I rewound Prince's arrival a few times haha. It was so much fun seeing all the 80's celebs and I too was wondering who Sheila's date was. I was a big Knots Landing fan back in the day and even Donna Mills was there! biggrin

Absolutely fantastic. Love the entrance by Prince.
The voiceover guy sounds like he has gone into some sort of extatic state.
Also great to see David Byrne (Talking Heads) there. Supertalents recognising each other....

never saw most of that, with what we know today, I can see that Morris was already in the process of getting out of the time with his not willing to talk about a tour. None of that looks like mtv footage that we got on the purple rain 20 dvd, camera wise. Little richard was there too and brought a bible, Prince being the bighead he was at the time (or just his antisocial self) wouldn't even acknowledge the man who was obviously a huge influence on him.

What a great time this was. The movie changed everything. The entire album contained hits. The Time, Sheila and even Appolonia were exploding in popularity across the charts. The PR tour, the performances on the award shows, it was all incredible. So glad to have witnessed it. So sad he is gone.
