One Nite Alone...Live! boxset

I just recieved the One Nite Alone...Live! boxset. Bought it on ebay and am so excited--but having read about unofficial copies of Prince's music, I'm wondering if this is real. Seems authentic to me but have you ever heard of the boxset being copied? I tried searching for info online but didn't see anything on this particular release. Thanks for any insight.

I miss you my friend --jj, me, and many others

It's very real and very authentic. Prince released this back in late 2002. I remember receiving it as a Christmas gift that year. Enjoy the music!

Never heard of this release being bootlegged before, and fake copies of the actual box seem unlikely. As for the cd's though, I suppose after April 21st anything is possible. Does it have the booklet?

Use Discogs.com for referencing official stuff. But yes, One Nite Alone...Live is a very real release.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That's kinda what I thought too. Yes, it has the booklet. It seems in pretty good shape...I can't really see any wear on it. What I thought was a little strange was that all the pieces came individually wrapped--the booklet was in a used plastic bag, the 2 main cds were in their own double cd plastic sleeve, the one it ain't over is in it's own paper envelope, the cd jewelcases each are in two different celophane/plastic type covers, all packed in the official-looking box with Prince on the cover and the keyboards around the edge of the back portion--this box was also in a re-used plastic bag and then wrapped carefully with air pillows. Even had extra unusal stuffing in the box like an infinity scarf or something. Seemed to me to be sold by someone who put care into it all.

Thanks for the link TrivialPursuit. I will study the information there. When looking for info on copies, I think I saw that some copies can look very real--the only way you might tell the difference is the font of numbers printed on the cds. I thought, wow, people will go to a lot of trouble and do a pretty good job of faking it.

More than I thought I would ever pay....$180.00. But that seemed like a good price compared to other listings for it (which was one reason I was a little worried it might be fake). But I thought to myself, well, if I were paying to see a Prince concert I might have to pay that much so why not pay it and have the pleasure his concert in my living room anytime I want?

Wow...that's awesome! I certainly wish I'd collected more before....well, you know. I'm looking forward to new releases. I wonder what the prices are going to be like.

At least the PR deluxe should be a reasonable price... I hope.

Well that looks not bad compared to some of the prices I've seen on auction sites. Hope you've got the Aladdin DVD as well

Thanks mynameisnotsusan. Yes, I did get the Aladdin DVD a couple of weeks ago--much more reasonable at $6.90 and wonderful to watch.

As I understand it, that 4th cd was the studio recorded One Nite Alone and was packaged separately from the 3 cd live boxset? No, my purchase did not include the studio album. I don't own the studio version sad --I think it's more rare than the boxset? And seems to be more expensive (per cd)....and is also one of the more commonly faked cds out there....so I'm more cautious about buying it anyway.

Just get the mp3 and burn it on CD. It's out there...

Timing is everything with all of these shifting variable prices in the items collections game. It sounds to me like you've received a lovingly-cared-for authentic box set from the previous owner. Enjoy your little piece of Prince's world!

I imagine that prices of future new releases will stick to standard prices of the compact-disc/vinyl market. I also imagine that there could be exceptions to that in some blockbuster compilation or rare-live-performance production (that fans will drool over) that somebody may compile in future time. The sellers will want to make the hard-core collector pay up, for sure.

Cool. That's the kinda price I thought it mighta been. Never seems it as low as purple thunder got it. Used to look now and then and it was always pretty exhorbitant.

The extra cd was included inside the box set itself. Thoe there was no indication anywhere on packaging that it was included.

The cd was sealed and identical to the ones sold at Npgmc.com

Premium npgmc mebers got 2 copies on the ONA piano albums. 1 shipped alone and and 1 extra copy in the box set. (I assume because i did, and others here have said the same )

Thats why you see sealed copies on Ebay, most people sold there un opend copies

I still have my un opend copy

Yeah - club members got them. I wasn't a club member but bought the box set via npgmc.com (was it $50?) and didn't get the piano album. It was kind of weird (incompetent?) that club members got 2 copies but it was never made available separately as a physical cd - was never that fussed on the album shrug
