I love the song "Girl" but 4 the love of Smurfs this isn't gonna turn into another "Andy was the love of his life, she was his last true g/f" thing again is it? If it does I'm leading a boycot.

Didnt know he ever did this live..or ever. Girl is an underrated song.
It took me aback back then because he was talking abut marriage in the lyric and I felt.."ah no, we cant have a married Prince, that would change things" lol
the long version is a beast

Yes!! He took out some of the steamier lyrics for this performance. Still, it's one sexy song.

What is it about that line of discussion that you find so troubling, ACharmed1? Would you prefer another thread psychoanalyzing Prince and his myriad alleged mental illnesses? That seems more appealing to some here on the org.

Prince said they had never done it, but Prince Vault says otherwise.

Oh wow this was so great... A highlight in a performance when he already gave us so much good stuff... Just being there and hearing him say this: "We've never played this before..." And remember, NO ONE knew what was going to come... And then hearing this forgotten gem... Even Andy Allo sounded good and that's saying something... I chose my username for a reason and this is it... Surely one of the best concerts I ever saw... Although when it comes to "sensual performances"... When I Lay My Hands On U and Gingerbread Man were also pretty hot... [Edited 2/5/17 11:00am]

I cant speak for ACharmed1 but its probably that we are tired of the enquierer/tbloid crap that gets talked about so often, instead of focusing on the music of the genius of our time.
Lately itsbeen a sewing circle here and nobody seems to be embarrassed by it. I guess as long as there's trafic...

Nope. I'm just tired of hearing the Andy shit and the SPECULATION of said relationship he had with her. Others must 2 which is why 1 can only assume that thread was shut down.

And, yet, who's deviating from the discussion of the music presently?

Thank U! | |

The fuck are you talking about? I discussed the msuic and you asked a question about something else and I answered it.
And you become accuatory to me about it as if Ive been the one to do the tabloid bs over and over again
see? this is part of the mentality Im talking about

wow..I would have too! Maybe Ill be abl to hear the performances sometime in the future, but to have witnessed it there must have been great!

I saw it listed on the set list. There were lots of nods to Andy in the PAAM shows. I know some will beat me up for saying that, but it is what it is. BTW: I'm still having trouble processing the fact that Prince is actually no longer with us. It's just too much...

One of my favorite performances.Prince and Andy were very playful and I love her vocals on this.

Was he no longer Jehovah Witness by 2011? I saw a 2011 vid of him dancing in front and behind Andy on stage. I hope he wasn't teasing that woman and leading her on all those years. I just recently found out she's still a baby. As in early 20s. I don't think he was having sex if he was calling himself a Jehovah's Witness. If he was indeed faithful to the religion then he didn't sleep with anyone after his divorce to Mani. Either way they put on nice performance on stage for the audience. I like Andy. She's such a beautiful soul and I love her voice! Isn't the NSJF floating around the inet? I've seen a few. The song Girl... Whoa.

Andy wasn't very popular with Prince fans back then. It had nothing to do with being his true love or not, it had to do with her not being able to play guitar or sing very well. But on this particular song, yeah, they hit it off perfectly. And yes, I'm blessed to have been there. It was a great night. The perfect climax to three North Sea Jazz concerts. (I also saw the first, but missed the second.)

Andy has come a long way since Prince, knowing full well her limitations, plucked her from relative obscurity and took her on tour with him and the NPG. She had never played electric guitar before and had only been playing acoustic for about four years. Also, she has made it clear that she did not grow up listening to P's music. So, she had about three weeks of boot camp before going on stage with The Purple Yoda, a rock and roll GOD. All things considered, I think she held her own. That took a lot of guts. I knew it was gonna happen. And when P is referred 2 as "The Purple Yoda" and "Mr. Goodnight" all in 1 comment it's just gonna go downhill in a hand basket from here. I wonder how many TMZ writers R on the Org?

This was a very cool performance. But so was the entire show (especially night 2). Let's talk about the whole gig and some amazing guitar performances, especially on Joy in Repetition and The Love We Make. Paisley Park is in your heart
