Many of the same issues getting their art made and distributed the way they wanted it. outside of age frame, I don't think the definition of contemporary fits them really, Spike was a film producer Prince a musician(who starred in a few films) ... Prince's films were hardly in the same subject matter as Spikes. . . but that is up to debate. U say tomato I say tomato

How was Malcolm X the movie about politics... seriously. Of course we live in a world that is governed by politics of various sorts. There are laws and such that we all have to follow ie politics. But Prince giving Spike money to help him finish the movie doesn't mean Prince was into politics. And Prince was not a Jehovah's Witness in 1992

I watched the movie, that doesn't make me a Muslim or follower of the NOI. Malcolms life story is beyond that, which is why I watched it.

That does not define a contemporary. friendship is not the same as contemporary.

Malcolm X was a biography of a mans life. Social issues, RELIGIOUS issues and government were a part of it course. The move was not a political movie.
What is embarrassing is you agreeing that "politics does not divide peole anymore than celebrating life does"

I replied to you, reminding you that in #16 I said Prince & Spike were contemporaries as far as age goes.

the other person equated being contemporaries with Prince & Spike sharing a love for basketball.
