Check out this video of Kristin Scott Thomas promoting her first film role in "Under the Cherry Moon". During the interview on "Live at Five", she talks about her experience working with Prince.

bsprout	I was just thinking about this yesterday, what a coincidence, thank you. I thought she was already an established actress when she filmed this movie, but apparently not. I guess Prince discovered her, too. I also wondered if she made any comments after he died; I don't recall reading any.

Thnx 4 posting this one, Latin.

I always thought it was great that this movie spawned Ms. Scott-Thomas' career.
In the credits it says: "Introducing Kristin Scott-Thomas", so it was evident that this was her first major feature role. Didn't know though that she auditioned for a smaller part and ended up wih the role of the leading lady because Prince wanted to have her for the leading role instead when he saw her audition. So she has quite something to thank him for: she became one of the best actresses of today, even though UTCM didn't do so well as a movie, which imho can be considered a classic after the fact. Nice!
