The spiritual life is for those who have found they have nothing left to debate, nothing left to arrange, all there is is peace and encouragement.

what was political about what happened to Trayvon Martin? Had nothing to do with Police or Government. We can leave it at we have 2 differing opinions.

You can have what ever class you need. So stop trying to demean me at every turn, just because I don't agree with you. See this is the problem, are you posting as a mod or a regular person? Because if you are posting as a mod, I will get hit with rule #7. If you are posting as a regular person, then be prepared for backlash and when you don't like the backlash that you receive don't turn into a mod as a safeguard. . And you can leave it at any opinion that you want. That doesn't mean the rest of us, have to stop giving our opinions on the subject. [Edited 2/13/17 7:30am]

You are a grown person. Get a thicker skin. I don't think you are new to the org as your joined date says. So you should know Prince.org fans are intense. You can continue giving your opinion. I never told you to stop, but if you reply, I can still reply, so can others. I'm not breaking any rules.

Rule #6. I've told you before, run my IP that will tell you if I'm new or not. I've even told you my real FULL name. So stop accusing me of being somebody else. [Edited 2/13/17 7:42am]

Jehovah's Witness,
in 1982 he sings:

Prince was clearly political. His politics were rooted in his experiences as a black man. I suppose that bothers some people... The wooh is on the one!

Prince was so wise. He really "got it". That's why he seemed to know just how to express his views about society. If he were to take sides (politics) he wouldn't really be able to be effective in getting out his message of Love4OneAnother. I would attend your class. I was taught to keep a good healthy open mind

PP you are absolutely right. Everyone suffers. I think that's why he was trying so hard to get out a message of Love4OneAnother. I have believed since April that he was also somewhat saddened by the way people treat each other. He was highly sensitive and intuitive and loved everyone. I think he couldn't understand it. He suffered too in his life so I think he could identify (compassion) and feel others' pain. I believe he worked very hard to make PP a place of love and joy, he created that space for himself and those around him to come and grow at. I think he wanted to extend that to the whole world.

cut n paste arguement
Dr King was a black man, doesn't mean what he did was political. Religion/Spiritual beliefs inspired him to make a difference/sacrifice his life. Even if it is to affect government. His direction was to the heart. Legislating laws he knew was only a little part, but if the heart changes, there would be no need for the laws. There is a difference dealing with humanitarian issues and being 'political' not to mention Prince did not take part in the biggest political process of voting. Prince singing about Love and Loving God and a theocratic order show the root of where his actions came from.

post #26 But being altruistic and political are two very different things. That is why he was careful to remain anonymous - even in his altruism. . Prince singing about Love and Loving God and a theocratic order show the root of where his actions came from. . Everyone is political then if we live in a society that has politics and government. Being political is about what drives a person, where their passions and intentions lie.
Some peoples core motivation is from a political standpoint, some from a religious standpoint. And then how it is expressed in the world we live in. . “I was anti-authoritarian but at the same time I was a loving tyrant. You can’t be both. I had to learn what authority was. That’s what the Bible teaches. The Bible is a study guide for social interaction.” He puts it another way. “If I go to a place where I don’t feel stressed and there’s no car alarms and airplanes overhead, then you understand what noise pollution is. Noise is a society that has no God, that has no glue. We can’t do what we want to do all the time. If you don’t have boundaries, what then?”
“It’s fun being in Islamic countries, to know there’s only one religion. There’s order. You wear a burqa. There’s no choice. People are happy with that.” But what about women who are unhappy about having to wearing burqas? “There are people who are unhappy with everything,” he says shruggingly. “There’s a dark side to everything.”
“I don’t want to get up on a soapbox. My view of the world, you can debate that for ever. But I’m a musician. That’s what I do. And I also am music. Come to the show for that.” ~Prince 2011
Dr King & Prince were both religious & patriotic, but not political

Prince was patriotic, but not a political symbol but more increasingly he looked to 'another government' a theocractic order
Van Jones: At the end, he was a true believer. And he didn't believe in anything but God and music.

Because he wasn't. What was the internal motivator for Malcolm X, the one that even caused him to begin to join with Dr Martin Luther King near the end? The one that caused him to be at odds with the NOI? And caused him to see all Muslims similar. It wasn't politics. . And you don't think politics divides people. Yet you proceed to believe you understand what being political is... PurplePoppy said: "politics does not divide peole anymore than celebrating life does"
