Wow it's been a while since I've watched that performance. Funny too as I just pulled out my DVD copy of this video just yesterday. This version always got some and I agree with someone else who said it's another studio version he laid down and then filmed and used in the video collection. Plus that ending...P was music The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

Thanks!. It was a hell of a ride. My unsung hero horn sections would be Earth Wind and Fire, and Seawind (Jerry Hey) Horns, although I can list many other influences. The last track I worked on for P was an EW&F horn and string treatment on "If I Could Get You're Attention" in January of 2016. Also, to give proper credit, the horn section in the Jimmy Kimmel performance you linked was the latest incarnation of the NPG Horns, not the Hornheadz. I suspect Phil Lassiter had his hand in the arranging on that. After our 10 year stretch in the '90s, we started working with P again in 2011. We did a lot of recording, but when we were asked to tour, it just wasn't feasible for us, so he brought in another batch of horn guys to tear it up with him on those live shows. -MBN

That is so pretty! Special bonus - do rag Prince. Brand new boogie without the hero.

This is absolutely incredible. Among his many lesser-praised talents, when he was 'willing and able' to do so P was beyond brilliant at creating a positive, communal atmosphere. This is case and point. I'm not a particularly religious person, but this makes you believe in something!
